Starting Methotrexate - Yey!

He He he!!! It worked.....

I tried the flattery approach and got the dragon doctor onside

straight away. Even got her to think that MTX was her idea!! lol.

I can understand her hesitation though as she says i have all the

symptoms of pa but no signs. My blood tests still keep coming back

with no inflammation, which I can't believe!! (I do remember reading

some posts with others like this though and mentioned that) But I am

still in pain and show her my swelling and shove my smelly fungus

toes in her face (LOL) and she says, is it definately psoriasis?

yes, do you have nail pitting as well? yes, ... she says she has

heard a rumour that the Rhuemy will not be returning to Darwin,

GREAT NEWS! she says " We can't wait that long for the Rhuemy and

must start MTX straight away " Yay!! I can't believe my LUCK. I am

having the best week so far and it is only Tuesday, no make that

Wednesday (still not getting myself into bed until about 3 or 4 am)

She is only starting me off on 1 x 2.5 tab which certainly doesn't

seem enough, but it is a start. Wants to get my baseline first

and then start increasing...makes sense.. at least I am finally

heading in the right direction and am feeling so relieved about it.

No hesitation from me. She waved off the side effects and folic

which i am sure i have read about on here, so will start doing a bit

of searching through the posts.

I did break down at one stage though - my pet hate showing weakness

to anyone. Acting skills failed me there as that was definately not

in my script. She is still not happy about the Panadeine Forte, but

listened to me and gave me another script... still wants me to just

keep on the ibrufen for now. One thing at a time hey! She even

signed the consent forms so i can start hydro & tai chi - reckons

its hogwash though, but its for my benefit - not hers.

Gotta get my sister moving in the right direction now.

PS - One thing I did which i think helped was booking a long

consultation - this way at least i got 15 mins instead of 5.lol.

HOW LUCKY AM I - MTX AND 2 WEEKS BONUS HOLIDAYS!!

(The pain will bring me back to reality but i'm sure. lol.)
