Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am not new, I don't post much, but I read a lot of what you have to say and it helps me cope with this disease we suffer from. Please can anyone help me with this question. What makes the white blood cell count drop while taking Enbrel? (other than an infection) When I asked my doctor, he said that I shouldn't worry to much, was very vague and is sendingme to a Hematologist. I have taken the Enbrel before, two years ago. However, after repeated UTI's was asked to stop. About four months ago my toes started to blow up again, with it I lost half the toenail. Then a thumb on my left hand became pudgy as well. The Enbrel has lessened the painful feet and hands, but now my white count is low. The doctor said maybe I was having a reaction to the Enbrel and should change meds. I've taken all the pills you can imagine for this to help with the pain and swelling of PA but not shots. The Enbrel was the first injection type of medication I have used. I don't know if I feel comfortable trying something new or not. I thought that they all did the same thing, don't they? So if the Enbrel would reduce the white count, would all the injectable medications react like that. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. This whole Medicine thing has me very confused.
