Guest guest
Hello to all!! I've have PA for alittle over a year and was taking my Humira injections which helped me more then I could ever hope for!! Well I just found out that my insurance prescriptions are no longer covered. I still have health insurance for doctor visits though. There is no way that I could possible afford them on my own and I do not want to end up in a wheelchair again. I am nervous and scared I cant go back to the way that I was before starting Humira. Does anyone know of a way to get help? Or if getting Remicade in the office is concerned an office visit or if it goes through a prescription? Please, if anyone knows anything I would greatly apprieciate it. Thank you, Charlene [Editor's Note: You will have to check with your own insurer to see of Remicade is covered. In some cases it is considered a doctor's visit because it is administered in a medical facility and it is therefore covered. Every insurance company is different, so you have to call yours to see what their policy is. Did you appeal the company's decision on Humira? All insurance companies have appeal processes and there is no reason to give up without a fight. Your doctor's office should also push your insurer into reconsidering. Your state also has a State Insurance Commissioner. You can contact them to find out more about the appeals process in your state. If that fails and your income is low enough, Abbott Labs (the manufacturer of Humira) has a program to help low income patients obtain Humira so you should also contact them.
