RE: Enbrel and pharmacies

Hello everyone,

Sending this to both my PsA groups as I have a question for BOTH groups.

I am curious something here. Where do you all get your Enbrel? Do you go to

a chain pharmacy such as WalMart, Walgreens or CVS, and get it from their

specialty pharmacy, WalMart's in St s, Florida (oh God, DON'T get me

started on all the problems I had with them and getting my Enbrel this

year--took me FIVE WEEKS!), or CVS' Specialty in Dallas, or Walgreens Mail

Order pharmacy, I forget where it is. Or do you patronize a private, local

pharmacy where you can obtain your Enbrel right there in your own city/town

and take it right home?

Responses MUCH appreciated. Does not matter who your insurance is. I am

looking to see if the smaller pharmacies even carry Enbrel.

[Editor's Note: I get mine from my prescription insurance specialty pharmacy -

Caremark Specialty. If I order it today, I will have it tomorrow or the day

after at the latest because they send it via FedEx which can get it anywhere in

I also get mine from Caremark. The call about one week before I

need a refill, and schedule delivery. The also ask if I need

supplies like alchohol pads, bandaids, or a disposal unit. I think

their service is outstanding.

I get my Enbrel from Pharmacare, which is a specialty pharmacy. I live in San

, Texas and most of the chain pharmacies find that this drug is too

expensive to stock on a regular basis. Go figure. Pharmacare calls me on the

same day every month regarding my refill. Since I live so close I just go and

pick it up. I feel so fortunate because, as I understand from my m.d. I am one

of a handfull of patients paying such a low co-pay $25.00.

Hope everything works out for you - good luck. It has been a miracle drug for

me.

I get mine through the Walgreens Mail Order. They are great to work with.

They call me and set up a delivery date, and then on the delivery date they

call to confirm delivery.
