Guest guest
Hi Amy, I'm responding, but not certain how helpful this will be. I too have had pain not really associated with joints. It's been a long time since I've discussed this with my rheumy. I said it felt more like a " strained muscle " or " tendon " , rather than joint pain like an ankle or knee. Typically, I got the pain in the back of my neck, but have also had it running up my thigh or down my calf. I'm not sure what he called it. It may have been Neuropathy. At any rate, he said it was common with PA and could occur on it's own independent of joint pain,(likely for the neck) but sometimes occurred because I had joint pain and was walking funny in order to favor the painful joint. I have been successfully treating for 3.5+ years with MTX. I really haven't had any pain for 3 of those years and it's been only the past 6 months that I have had a flare and felt the aches creeping back. I'm seeing my rheumy next week to discuss how to best deal with this. Possibly increasing my MTX. It does sound like you could still have PA. I'd suggest seeing another rheumy for another opinion. I wouldn't just do nothing, because although you have no joint damage now, you could start developing joint damage and that is something you really want to avoid. How this helps. Guest guest
Amy, Hi I read your post and it brings back bad memories of my life. My pain started in my feet. Toes at first then the entire foot bottom. Almost too sensitive to walk. Once walking for a few steps the pain would subside and it was at most tolerable. Knees were so sore I hardly could get out a chair. My life has changed since my control of diet occurred. My diet is limited. Lately I added apples and I spiraled back to a life of pain and seeming uncontrol of my body. Small steps to change the diet are so important because it is so diffucult. The difinetion of stess: looking in your frig. and thinking is this shit killing me? Hope you get better before permanant joint damage occurs.
