Guest guest
Dear All, Forgive me if this question has been asked before, but I'm wondering if methotrexate will work for me.I'm currently on sulphasalazine (500mg x a day) & ibuprofen (300mg x 6 or 8 per day). It works to a certain extent -I mean I can still walk & all -but not as good as it used to. I don't seem to get much swelling apart from toes & fingers & knee, but what I do get is a lot of pain without much swelling -usually wrists & thumbs, spine around shoulders, chest & points of my shoulders. I know PA affects tendons etc & my rheumatologist has suggested methotrexate but can't say whether it'll be any better. Has anyone got any advice? I would really appreciate it since I'm worried I'm not going to be able to use my hands soon - already have loss of grip & strength. thanks kind regards Caz [Editor's Note: There is only one way to find out if MTX will work for you and that's to try it. When I first went on MTX, I felt like a new person. Kathy F.]
