We're looking for a lyme literate pediatrician in the NY, CT, NJ area. Also, if anyone knows if Dr. is taking new patients? I've already done a search on LDA. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Do you also think Dr J may do a long distance peer to peer consult using a review of medical charts and test results?? We are in the now unfortunate position of having Evan just dx with POTS [and immunodeficiency, with possible autoimmune components] (either as result of or confounding the MTBI) and after taking the 10 hr trip to Ohio and back I seriously cannot envision Evan and I making another car trip over 1 hour anytime soon BUT we really need a new pair of eyes and some serious input as he also came up HLA DR4 and a few others indicating genetic susceptibility toward autoimmune diseases and inflammatory as well as the harder to treat Lyme issues.( so I guess it now all makes sense) We are hoping that with Dr J's experience with the HLA and treating hard cases that he'd have some insights we have yet to explore. Our LLMD offered this option but expressed doubts of Dr J's ever doing this...any thoughts?? THANKS!!!! Finette Re: [ ] LLMD Pediatrician Yes he is, but it may take awhile to get an appt. Guest guest
Just returned from a visit with Dr. J. This is to respond to two emails I have just read. First, Dr. J has another doctor in with him, L. Marra, who is handling Lyme cases. Second, to keep it brief, my daughter also has " pots " which was her first symptom. Also autoimmune and cognitive issues as well. (HLA DR4) She has been under the care of Dr J for one year. This is after being diagnosed with pots in 99 with 8 mths prior trying to determine what was the problem and not being diagnosed with LD until 11/04. We are very happy to say the child he saw yesterday is a brighter, happier and more active child than the one from a year ago. My daughter just turned 12 last thursday and for the first time in years is back in school, dancing & enjoying her childhood. It is a travesty that children are at the hands of those who do not doctor with a conscience. Apologize for the tangent, but when I think of everything that we have been through I become extreemly irratated.
