Guest guest
Hi Helen, I use to use Methotrexate but it stopped working and the pain came back and with a vengance. I am now I am doing 2 shots a week (both on the same day). The pain went away within a couple days and my Psoriosis has cleared up and today for the first time is forever I am wearing a skirt. I LOVE ENBREL... it is amazing stuff. I would like to try the pre mixed to see how much easier it is. > > i have been on metho for a mumber of years but sadly it is no longer working ,.. i am now injecting enbrel as well ...i am hoping that the 2 injections wil work well together anyone else on the 2 or have been would love to hear your advise thanks helen xxx > > > > > > SEE YOU LATER > > > --------------------------------- > Switch an email account to , you could win FIFA World Cup tickets. > >
Guest guest
Helen, I was on MTX injections with Enbrel injections for about a year, but then I had to go off the MTX because the MTX stopped working, my liver didn't like it, and I was getting a lot more nausea and vomiting. I have been on a combination of Enbrel 50 mg injected once a week and 10 mg of prednisone a day now for the past two years along with Tylenol and occasional oxycodone I'm doing really well. At first I had a problem with weight gain, but over the last 1-1/2 years I have successfully taken off 40 pounds and kept it off. I'm hoping to lose another 60 pounds over time. Hopefully, MTX and Enbrel combo will work longer and better for you than it did for me. Carol in Vancouver, WA [Editor's Note: Helen, there are numerous studies that show that Enbrel works better WITH MTX than either Enbrel or MTX works alone. Please discuss this with your rheumatologist. He/she may suggest staying on MTX as it may work with Enbrel even though it is no longer effective as a monotherapy. Guest guest
, Enbrel IS amazing stuff!!! I love it too!!! I use the premixed. It is easier. I don't bruise with the premixed. However, it does have a sting. I have lessened the problem by making absolutely sure that the Enbrel warms up for 30 minutes, and then I just take my time pressing the plunger. If the Enbrel goes in slowly, I can avoid the sting. You also have to get used the needle feeling like it is not going to go in. You just have to trust that it will and press a little harder. I have never had a problem with it not. Guest guest
Hi Helen I've been on MTX 5 months and enbrel 1 month. At one point I didn't know how much MTX was helping, so I skipped a dose - whoops!!! Things started to heat up... Although it was helping, it wasn't enough. I've been on Enbrel about a month, things aren't perfect, but a lot better. I take 2.5 mg prednisone a day down from 15-20, one more week at 1 mg /day and then I'll stop. No way I could go below 15 mg before enbrel. Should be even better in another month. I'm very happy with the combination so far, I hope it works well for you too. Best regards - > > i have been on metho for a mumber of years but sadly it is no longer working ,.. i am now injecting enbrel as well ...i am hoping that the 2 injections wil work well together anyone else on the 2 or have been would love to hear your advise thanks helen xxx

The MTX did nothing for me on its own. How are you getting on with the Enbrel added? Well, I hope? Take care,
