Guest guest
I have a good rheumy, so I don't want this to sound like I'm bashing her. I'm set to start Enbrel this week (oo) just waiting for all the pieces to fall into place. On my appointment on Friday I told my rheumy that I was taking 4800mg of Ibuprofen a day to get by but my stomach was starting to kill me. She suggested I try Celebrex and started me at 200mg a day. By Saturday mid-day my back and knee were screaming. Sunday wasn't much better. Percocet was a big help, but I needed so much just to calm things down that I was incapable of doing anything. Has anybody had much success with Celebrex? If so, how much do you usually take? I made it to work today but have had to take Percocet. I usually try to get by with tramadol during the day. Guest guest
I take 200mg of Celebrex once a day and have been for over a year. It is for inflammation, not so much for pain except as the pain is caused by inflammation. It works well for me as an anti-inflammatory. That being said, nothing I have taken (MTX, Humira, naproxen, Celebrex, Tramadol) in the 3 years since my diagnosis has completely stopped me from flaring occasionally. Some of us just have to accept that the meds help a lot but do not totally make us normal. I accept that I will sometimes have worse pain, but usually my pain is pretty well-controlled. You may just be having a slight (or moderate) flare that has nothing to do with your pain meds. " S. Zorzi " <szorzi_1999@...>
