Guest guest
Like the PA and P wasn't enought, now this...I was hospitalized for 3 days, now I'm home and still sick. The doctor told me to stop the Enbrel. Anyone else had diverticulitis here? Could it be associated with the biologics somehow? Thanks, ps: Im on my early 30's and according to the doctor the disease shouldn't affect this early...
Guest guest
Unlike yourself, my diverticulitis preceded the onset of PA. I had diverticulitis about 7 years ago and ended up losing 18 inches of my colin in the process. Yes, I'm now a semi-colin. I started developing symptoms of PA after I left the hospital. I ended up on bioligics a few years later. I don't necessarily believe that diverticulitis and bioligics are related. I do believe, however, that there is a high incidence of people who have certain types of inflammatory arthritis who end up with IBS and other intestinal abnormalities. Sorry to hear about your diverticulitis. Also glad you're home and hopefully recovering. I spent two weeks in the hospital. The infection wouldn't heal, so they had to do the resection. Good luck to you - Mark > > Like the PA and P wasn't enought, now this...I was > hospitalized for 3 days, now I'm home and still sick. > The doctor told me to stop the Enbrel. Guest guest
Im not sure if you saw my previous postings but for me personally Enbrel did not work and I ended up with Lymphoma...I also spoke with Enbrel company directly who said they are getting more reported cases with people on Enbrel getting Lymphoma....so please beware! Guest guest
Thank God you were diagnosed with the diverticulitis in time. My maternal grandfather had it, three of his four children had it, my mother was misdiagnosed (Dr. said she had the flu, she was 55) with it and passed away, my aunt caught it just in time and had a colostomy for quite some time. So as you can see in my experience it is inclined to be hereditary. Why did your doctor stop Enbrel? If he/she was not clear, ask them to explain why. My guess would be to prevent potential infections. Good luck! > > Like the PA and P wasn't enough, now this...I was > hospitalized for 3 days, now I'm home and still sick. > The doctor told me to stop the Enbrel. Guest guest
I took them for many years but since the biologics I haven't taken anything but Tylenol or prednisone, but the late one I stopped months ago. --- " S. Guest guest
I didn't even know one could die from it. --- goatdog68 <goatdog68@...> wrote: > Thank God you were diagnosed with the diverticulitis > in time. Guest guest
Hi Sherry, About diverticulitis. You can control it in most cases with adding fiber to your diet. Most people as they age have diverticulosis, which are little pouches that form in the large intestine. You have diver- ticulitis when these little pouches becomed inflamed or infected. I have had diverticulosis for a long time, so I no longer eat peanuts, sesame seeds, etc. Even blackberries are a problem sometimes. If all of us over 50 are getting our colonoscopies (ick) you will find that half or more will be diagnosed with diverticulosis. We get old everywhere it seems. Hope this finds you well, God Bless Janet in Ca
Guest guest
Hi, Janet! I'm eating Fiber One cereal - 13 grams of fiber. That's almost half the RDA. I also eat lots and lots of fresh fruits and veggies with peel. And no refined grains. I'm doing OK in the fiber area. best regards, sherry z
Guest guest
, I have not heard of LDN for diverticulitis, but am familiar with the use of Betaine HCL for such. try it, you should feel better within several days, a week at most. I have found Betaine HCL w/ pepsin is the better. Take one tablet, 650mgs with the last bite of a meal for three days, then start taking two tabs with the last bite of the meal for three days, then three tabs. etc. At some point over acidic stomach will yell stop, no more hydrocholoric acid, then revert to the last dosage that did not give you acid stomach. Not a dock, just passing along what works for me. As to why anyone would not take LDN is a complete mystery to me. stay vertical, david a lubbock tx [low dose naltrexone] Diverticulitis Has anyone with this had good luck taking low dose Naltrexone?
