Guest guest
Lamar, In 1966 when I was prescribed Ritalin it WAS a classfied amphetatmine and a highly controlled substance. It was chemically different then too - I know, I took it, and yes, it did help fight my CMT fatigue. We were midly warned about the dangers, but it was Dr. controlled/supervised. Quite the opposite way it now works on children with ADD. My Drs. knew then that I have a backwards effect with medications. I know the fibro folks use it so do the CFS folks. They use Neurontin AND Ritalin. My Ritalin years were tough ones, then coming off it was tougher. Please share your personal experience about taking Ritalin. I'd love to hear about it. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Gretchen, It is a controlled drug. I have never taken Ritalin, but have given it in the hospital. I do know several fibromyalgia patients that are on it and a physician about 60 miles away that is now doing full time research on it for fibromyalgia. We used it a lot in hospital for ADHD in children but rarely with adult ADD. We also had several on our substance abuse unit for abuse and withdrawal. The two that had been shooting it IV had a fairly rough time. ----- Original Message ----- From: Gretchen Glick egroups Sent: Saturday, January 13, 2001 03:31 PM Subject: [] Ritalin Lamar, In 1966 when I was prescribed Ritalin it WAS a classfied amphetatmine and a highly controlled substance.
