Hi and all,

I just wanted to say, I'm looking into buying a handcycle. They have 3

wheels...are pretty low to the ground, and just like it sounds, you pedal using

your hands and arms. They are pretty expensive but will be well worth it for me.

Talk about buff...it works the heck out of your upper body and is very aerobic.

Not to mentioin that if you get REALLY into it you can do the Seattle Marathon

on your bike ! That's my goal within the next 2 years. If you want some

help looking, let me know. I know that 2 of the brands of cycles are " Freedom

Ryder " and " Top End " . You can imagine that the " Top End " cycles are the most

expensive. There is even a handcycling club here in Seattle called NW

Handcycling Club that has an email list on They will set up a time for

you to come to their clubhouse and try out a cycle if you want to. I know that

in addition there are racing chairs. I don't know what your upper body

situation is with the PA. Mine flares and goes into remission, back and

forth...so I'm hoping that my remissions are long enough at a time to help me

get into shape with a handcycle. Once again though...it all comes down to the

$$.
