I have never seen anything linking PA and low temp but there seems to

be a bunch of us that have it. My usual temp is 97.6. When I have a

flare or I over do it it will go up in the evenings.

My normal body temp is about 96.8 consistently for years. I do have

hypothyroidism but even w/ medication for it my temp remains low.

Interesting others do too . . . Hypothyroidism came about 10 years

before PsA - although P started around when hypothyroidism started.

96.8... maybe you're dyslexic! hahahahaha! Just joking!

Mine seems to run about that too. I would go to the doctor feeling like I was

burning up with fever only to find that my temp was 98.6 (textbook normal).

Take care and sorry about the bad joke,

Deanna

Just adding myself to the list of those with normal temperature range of about

96.5 degrees.  I first became aware of this about thirty years ago when I had to

take my temp every morning because I was trying to get pregnant.  If the

thermometer gets up to 99.0 I consider myself officially sick.  But that rarely

happens for those of us with PsA, one of the few benefits.  My rheumy said it

would actually be more encouraging if I did get a cold because at least it would

indicate my immune system was functioning better.  Because we are so highly

immune it often keeps the strongest treatments from helping us also.

Hi and hi to Jolene -- I too am in New York state. How does the

weather up here effect you both?

Hi Dawn and all,

The reason why you were not dead when you started this mess is that your body

was making some, but deficient, thyroid hormones. Then as you add hormone

replacements, your body cuts back on the amount that it is making. You have

described that regulatory characteristic of being better and then falling back

as you body adjusts to the added replaceements....

Have a great, or at least a better day,

temperatures, which are the most convenient type of temperature measurement, is

at 37.0 °C. This is the accepted standard temperature for the normal core body

temperature. Axillary temperatures are an external measurement taken in the

armpit or between two folds of skin on the body. This is the longest and most

inaccurate way of measuring body temperature, the normal temperature falls at

97.6 °F or 36.4 °C''

occasionally but always ends up at a constant 36.4C thereafter. I am now at 3

grains with exactly the same temp which I always take under the arm and it seems

my temp is now perfectly normal. In fact I took it 3 times yesterday and it was

the same all 3 times, amazing. Shame I still don't feel well in various ways.

My body heat has dramatically risen after taking the increased progesterone. I

always had a body temp of 35.9 - I now feel 'toasty' warm 30 mins after taking

the HRT. The estrogen dominance and adeqaute HRT replacement has been a missing

piece of the puzzle for me in all this.

Armour, it made me feel really rough) and my body temp stays at a constant 36.5

or 36.6 during the first 2 weeks of my cycle.

Hi - yes, this can have quite

a dramatic effect. Over the years I have heard of people struggling to find the

answer to why, whatever they did, they still remained with many uncomfortable

symptoms and didn't know where to turn next, but when natural progesterone was

introduced to balance their sex hormones because of the oestrogen dominance

that takes over in some people with hypothyroidism, the results can be almost

miraculous. What cream are you using (assuming it is a cream).

Such a low temperature is

considered to be hypothermia. Are you actually feeling very cold, like wanting

to wrap yourself up in blankets with hot water bottles. Do you feel cold

inside? Are you suffering any other symptoms? Do you feel your thyroxine is not

working for you as it was before?

Luv - Sheila

Hi Dawn

I have just taken my temp again this morning before getting out of bed this

time so I dont feel cold and it is 34.9. I know I have a naturally low body

temp in that it has never been recorded as reaching 37 but didnt realise it was

this low.

Hi Sheila

I really dont know, I dont think I feel any different than I ever have before, I

dont know what normal is really. I know I do get cold very quickly for instance

if I get out of bed to go to the loo, when I get back in my hubbies bum comes in

handy to warm my feet on, they take a age to near warm then they go wet and

clammy, bit like a reptile. When hubby goes to the loo he does not have the same

problem.

I do get very cold inside which I try and avoid by wearing a few layers because

when this happens it takes forever to get warm through again which is ususally

in the form of someone elses body heat.

Another thing I have noticed is that our spa is set at 37 degrees and when I get

in it feels like a hot bath and when I get out after about half an hour I feel

glowing which makes me feel nice and comfortable to get straight into bed.

As I am writing this, I have slippers on but my feet are cold and wet, I have

several layers on, my temp is now 35.8 and I think I feel warm, the heating is

on.

Do you think this is worth a mention to the doctor?

Hi

That is cold hon, I would defo tell the doc.

thanks for telling me about the progesterone, chances are then I might

need to drop armour if I go on that as my temp would be considered normal now

and I am quite warm feeling.

Lucky the Dr I saw Friday is gonna test mey female hormones even my progesterone

even though they don't normally test that unless you want to get pregnant

yeahhhhh lol.

lotsa luv
