Guest guest
Hi Janet, I am sorry you had a bad experience with Dr. , but I am not surprised. In my opinion (and my opinion only, not the opinion of this board), I believe that she didn't properly monitor me for side effects when I was on Arava. If you want more details, you can email me off list. I now have Dr. -Blair in South Sacto and I like her a lot. Since I have been diagnosed with both RA and PA for 25 years, I've had several rheumatologists and am quite well versed in what constitutes good care. She would be a good one to connect with for another opinion. Actually, the best Kaiser rheumatologist, IMHO, is Dr. Aileen Dillon in San Francisco, my rheumatologist and pcp for several years. She interned at the Mayo Clinic and has a wonderful reputation. The only problem is that in addition to being a rheumatologist, she is also a pcp and that means that it's very difficult to get an appointment with her. A physical therapist once told me that the entire Kaiser medical community in San Francisco -- all the doctors and nurses, etc. -- want Dr. Dillon as their personal pcp. If you can manage to see her and get another opinion about your condition, you will have struck gold. Good luck to you.
