Guest guest
I just found and joined this group. I was motivated to look for answers because my rheum just told me I needed to be on MTX. I was diagnosed in 2000 in my early 50s and have previously been on Medrol and Enbrel. I had to stop Enbrel two years ago because I got sick so much. Since then, I've been " managing " my flares with Medrol. I'm between flares right now an free of all but an occasional dose of ibuprofen. My rheum has told me that using Medrol repetitively is a poor option, with more complications than MTX. He thinks that, when I flare again, I should start MTX. However I am afraid of the MTX complications and how it would change my lifestyle - no more wine with dinner, hair loss, fatigue, nausea, etc. I would be interesting in hearing from people taking, or who have taken, MTX and am particularly interested to know if Arava is a better option. Thanks - it's such a relief to know about this group! Jackie
