Guest guest
, one nice thing about the folic acid - it's on Walmart's list of drugs available for $4! My rheumy had me taking 2 grams a day at one point and said I could even go to 3 if necessary. So, folic acid can be pretty cheap if you get it at Walmart. regards, sherry z > >> I saw my family practice doc last week and he said I could up the folic > acid or add some L-lysine. Guest guest
Hi My Rheumy in creased the folic acid and it helped with some of the adverse side effects. My husband has mouth sores and his dentist said to cut out peanuts, peanut butter and chocolate... two of his favorite things!!! That's just a FYI. > > Okay, so I've been on MTX now for three months. The good news is that for most people, the mouth sores eventually stop once your body gets more acclimated to MTX. Many people find that symptoms are eased by using injectable rather than oral MTX. You are doing all the right things. If the symptoms persist, you might need to come off the MTX but I'd suggest giving it a bit more time and continuing with the L- lysine. Keep your doctors in the loop on this. Good luck. Kathy F.] >

Thanks - I don't eat either of those on a regular basis....although peanut M & M's (and peanut butter ones) do get me from time to time! :-)
Guest guest
greetings..... if you hsvent tried it, try taking folic acid, because mtx will take this vitamin out of your system if you dont take enough oh of it. mtx will cause the mouth sores with the absence of folic acid....blessed be....bob momto23weeker <momto23weeker@...> wrote: > > My husband has mouth sores and his dentist said > to cut out peanuts, peanut butter and chocolate... two of his > favorite things!!!
