Guest guest
Her symptoms sound just like a kid I know who is currently suffering from Shingles... Did they rule that out? His Mum was sure he was being bitten by fleas or spiders... Kristy

Guest guest
Kristy, I'm taking her to the doctor in about an hour. I marked the outside of the bites with small marker dots so we could see if they spread anymore. A couple have grown, but the bigger ones seemed to have stopped. She's feeling " fine, but for the last two days she had not gone pee except ONE time. I'm pushing the fluids, she says she feels like she has to go but nothing comes out. Doctor here we come. Guest guest
A couple of months ago I emailed in about some symptoms that my 17yo daughter had developed during her treatment for Lyme Disease. When I took her back to our family practice and shared my concerns about her developing symptoms (jaw pain, more fatigue after going off antibiotics, a horrible meningitis-like headache she experienced), the doctor totally blew me off and declared that she was " fine " . Well, I knew she was not fine. Her grades continued to drop, she slept much more than normal, and she developed pain in her right arm after a flu shot that just wouldn't go away. I finally called a New Haven pediatrician who specializes in Lyme disease treatment and we were able to get in within a few days. After a very long, extensive examination, and review of my daughter's already positive Lyme test from September, my daughter was put on two antibiotics, blood was drawn and sent to two labs that specialize in Lyme and other tick-borne disease testing. After feeling even more tired for a couple of weeks, my daughter was beginning to feel a little better when I got a call from the doctor's office that my daughter had tested positive for babesia. She is now on another medication (Mepron) and an herb to fight the protozoa that prevented my daughter from recovering from Lyme disease when she was treated in the fall of 2008. She is on amoxicillin, Zythromax, and Mepron as well as an anti-malarial herb. I just wanted to share this so others can explore the possibility of co-infections as the cause of a failure to recover from Lyme disease. I am so thankful that this was found so my daughter can be treated and eventually recover completely from Lyme disease and babesiosis. Thank you to all who emailed me privately and encouraged me to have my daughter evaluated again by a Lyme-literate medical doctor. God bless, Michele

I was unable to find it locally, but did find it online. I tried to ask my LLMD about this herb and she had never heard of it. I did Google the herb and it is mentioned in a few places as a Lyme/Babesiosis treatment. Michele
