Guest guest Report post Posted July 6, 2004 thanks alice, tender chicken soup sounds like a good idea then :-) Re: Trish Hi Trish, does a great job of sharing tips on what to expect so you can be prepared after surgery. I'd like to add a couple as I found these helpful for me. Think soft foods for a couple of days. Your jaw might be sore and the soft foods seem to make it easier. If you have a recliner - you might prefer it for sleeping for a few days. There are two reasons. First, it's more comfortable after surgery on your head and second, keeping the head elevated a little helps to stop the dizzy feeling. Whoops - here's advice number 3. I almost forgot this. When you get up or when you move - go slowly for a few days. Don't move your head fast in any direction. Just nice slow and even movements feel the best and keep the dizziness at bay. Guest guest Report post Posted August 9, 2004 Dear Trish, Yes, yes! Do the program. It will do you wonders and also the entire family will benefit if you can continue to move forward even while dealing with the family needs. You are a wonderful mother and that won't change. I've been encouraging my husband to choose a hobby or class outside of work and my needs - he really needs it. It's very hard to feel so responsible for a chronically ill person but by doing something for you, you will have even more strength when others need it. I hope this makes sense!!!! I know when I did my masters program during a time when my daughter was pushing everyone of my buttons, it gave me space and I could handle the situation better. Guest guest Report post Posted March 25, 2005 Thanks for you quick response Trish. How is Kels? I went to her web site a while back but was to dumb to find the guest book**********. I am not supposed to have any blood work and when I said are you sure Iam cured he said" well It might come back someday but don't worry about it". I used to get regular blood work but now I only get it if I don't feel good. I have only had 2 tests since December. the WV hillbilly
Guest guest Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Hey Trish Don't apologise. We all support and lean on each other here. Sometimes we like what we read and sometimes we may not...everyone's opinions and sharing of news or events is important. Some days it would be easier if adults could voice their opinions the way children do.. with honesty and caring. I was one of those people who only took a tylenol when the headache didn't go away after a good nights sleep..so now I have to accept that I take medications every day and I feel like myself again..it's all about quality of life and doing what you have to to get by. We grow through shared experiences. I love the colours Kelsey picked.. now I just have to keep my mouth shut or a will be asking why she can't do her room that way..lol.. right now she is counting the days until she turns 16 and can get her driving licence.. god help us all! Have a great weekend everyone Spring is here, enjoy yourselves Marie (Ont) > > Just want to apologize if my post about Kelsey's comments about taking > the medication or dying offended any of you. It was not my intention > at all.
Guest guest Report post Posted April 1, 2005 You are totally right. We are here to support each other. I can't imagine what it would be like to watch my precious daughter go through this disease. That would be tuff. I hope she continues to do well with being off the medications, and that she can just enjoy a long time of being a kid. It's fun to hear the colors you have done in your daughter's bedroom . I just painted my daughter's room last fall in pastel horizontal stripes of blue, yellow, pink, lime green, and purple with a white glaze sponged over top of it all to soften and blend the look. It was so fun to put together, and my daughter is into fairies, and unicorns. It looks like pastel ice cream parfait. As far as watching your children put on weight, it is hard. I know. My oldest son is 325 lbs at 16 years of age. My other children are all sticks. I am a little weight obsessed because I have gone from a size 12 to a size 6 (which I stayed at for a year with a good healthy diet, and lots of exercise) then quit and went to a size 18 in the past 4 years. And now I feel it's more important than ever for me to get the weight back off so that I don't have to deal with diabetes or heart disease on top of all the things that having and treating AIH are going to throw at me. Take care. I am not easily offended, and I truely hope that I don't offend anyone either, as I tend to be a little blunt in my nature, even though I am not a child. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Take care, Kelli > > > > Just want to apologize if my post about Kelsey's comments about > taking > > the medication or dying offended any of you. It was not my > intention > > at all. We did obedience classes for years but had to give it up when I got sick. I just can't do it anymore but I so miss playing with--I mean training (LOL) the puppies. Guest guest Report post Posted April 10, 2005 Elaine, Ty for the information, Im writing it down now. Dog classes are for our 6 year old Boston Terrier, hes a great dog, well behaved with people, listens to anyone if they are people, does trick for people but other dogs he gets a freak fest going on. If we take him on a wlak and another dog comes along, he goes nutts, takes all our strength to hold him, hes 18 lbs!! LOL So I said enough is enough and took him for a dogg anger consultation, it helped alot. Changed leashes, collars, techniques and he walked today beautifully, even passed a dog on th eother side of the fence, he saw him but Tyson minded me not the other dog. So Im starting him in classes a week from Wednesday, will help him socialize and test him constantly in a ring with other dogs. Hubby says Im nutts but he doesnt walk him, LOL. Guest guest Report post Posted April 14, 2005 Trish glad that Kels visit was good but it's a shame it's such along day for both of you. It's amazing how kids keep on going when we are ready to drop. Kels seems very level headed and mature for her age and I think a good honest talk about her weight issues and a visit with a nutritionist would be agood idea. When I was a youngster I also had weight issues and in my 20's I was anerexic. When I found out the harm I was doing to my self and got my self esteem straightened out with counseling I did ok. I hope everything works out keep me posted.

Guest guest Report post Posted December 21, 2005 You know we actually talked about that. I should have him talk to Dr.A about it. It wouldn't be such a bad idea, for my sake.
