Guest guest
I can't say I have had any relied from the methotrexate yet (a year and a half later) My doctor insists it is helping though. As far as caffeine goes I was never told to not have it. I drink a pot of tea in the morning and a few diet coke through the day. Guest guest
It took about 8 weeks before I noticed how much better I was feeling, and after 12 weeks I was significantly more improved. After that, I continued to improve some but more slowly. " S. Zorzi " <szorzi_1999@...>
Guest guest
Hi hhaasch, MTX can take 6-8 weeks before you start seeing results. Your dosage is also a factor. It may need to increase if you are not seeing results by 8 weeks. My Rheumy mentioned caffeine only in passing. I told him I typically drink 1 or 2 cups each morning and perhaps might have 1 or 2 if I had dinner out on a weekend. He seemed unfazed and didn't react negatively at all. More importantly he reiterated his warning about alcohol. Have NONE. Well, 5-6 years later, I mostly abstain, but do allow myself a glass of wine once or twice a month. And for goodness sake, don't be scared. If you aren't experiencing any negative side effects (I never did) that's great! There is nothing to be afraid of. If you are one of the folks that does experience side effects like nausea, etc, You can always stop taking MTX, with extremely little chance of long term effects. Stay Well,
Guest guest
I've been on MTX for awhile now. I have felt some relief from it, but the most relief came from the pairing of the MTX and Humira for me. I was never told not to drink caffeine, I drink 2 - 3 cans of pop a day.
