Guest guest
You have such a beautiful attitude! When my hands are hurting, I wonder if I should even bother getting into medicine as a Dr, but you just encouraged me that we all have problems to overcome, not just those of us with PA. Guest guest
You have such a beautiful attitude! When my hands are hurting, I wonder if I should even bother getting into medicine as a Dr, but you just encouraged me that we all have problems to overcome, not just those of us with PA. If you really want to be a doctor, go for it. If your hands hurt, medical school and residency might be a wee bit tough, but once through that, you could pick a specialty where the state of your hands wouldn't matter......like dermatology or psychiatry instead of surgery or OB/GYN. I became a nurse despite having a bilateral sensorineural hearing loss and wearing hearing aids. Things like electronic stethoscopes helped a lot, so I could hear breath sounds and heart sounds better. Then, once my PA was diagnosed, I had to go on short-term disability and medical leave from my hospital employer....but once the Methotrexate kicked in, I was able to return to nursing, albeit as an office nurse as opposed to the hospital. Blessings and luck to you in your endeavors! Wanda
Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I've been wondering how you were doing so am glad to hear an update. The fatigue sure can be tough! Glad you have that sweet husband there to help you and good you'll be checking in with you blood work next week. If your are feeling like passing out - definitely sounds like you want to check it out soon. I was told to call in if at anytime I was getting dizzy. I can't remember - what week are you in? Hang in there - you are a trooper! Had a couple real rough weeks but woke up this past Monday - made the three hour drive to Pittsburgh (just beat the storm!) and have miraculously found that I've been feeling pretty good all week - my energy and overall health seems to be pretty decent. In week eleven - so maybe I'm leveling off to a better place. They checked my blood work and had decided if if the hemo had dropped anymore, that they'd prescribe procrit - I don't have my lab copy yet, but as I haven't heard am assuming all is well. I was told to call if I get hit with fatigue again and it doesn't lift - glad to know they aren't talking decreasing any meds, but adding. I thank this list for my knowing what's what. Also, they did a viral load - so I'm doing the wait again. Oh gosh! Trying not to think about it too much. Probably have the results in another week. So - healthwise, I'm doing great. Issues with my son have been very stressful again - I know that effects my sleep more than the treatment - but even that has an end in sight. My love to all. > > My hubby has helped me clean house today, bless his little pea-pickin' Okie soul!! I had to actually lie down every 10 or so minutes and catch my breath and wait for the shaking to stop. I am soooo weak. If I move too quickly, I come dangerously close to just passing out. > > I have an appt next week and the first round of blood work has been done, so will see then. Mean time, it's an effort to get up the stairs, make the bed and put my clothes on. I have to lie down for 20 minutes to regain strength. > > I'm sure I'm not getting enough water, but I'm sure drinkin' a lot, as much as I can. My throat is always dry, so that 's not hard to do. > > It's still early and I know things will level off in another month or so, so I'm hangin' in there and clutching on to my sense of humor. lol > > All my personal email today is from a different foreign country and that brightened my spirits considerable. God bless epals!! > > Sharon >
Guest guest
Tonight's shot will be the 6th, I think. Still have a ways to go, but I'm just hangin' out for the most part. Sold my beautiful 66 Mustang, so I don't even have my own car now. I'd sooo rather have the remodeling done to my house, tho. And I don't care if I go anywhere right now anyway. lol Sounds like you've reached the leveling off, . YAY,now, it's just endurance and hope for svr. Kids just do not EVER stop worrying us. My sons are now in their 40's and I STILL worry about one of them daily. Sharon Re: whew Hi Sharon,I've been wondering how you were doing so am glad to hear an update. The fatigue sure can be tough! Guest guest
THanks. I came to the conclusion that lying around the house is not good either, I feel worse. I did a bunch of stretching excercises tonight and feel much better. Back to the TM tomorrow morning, even if for a short stint. I also can tell I feel better when I down the water, so the advice is valid and I'm gonna pay more attention to it. I'll miss my little yellow stang, but it was good while it lasted and I WANT/NEED more than 630 sq ft to live in. arrgghh Sharon Re: whew Hi Sharon,I've been wondering how you were doing so am glad to hear an update.
