Several years ago, there was a discussion on how people manage to work

away from home. It took me awhile to really understand what was meant

by the phrase.

Do the moderators & old timers on this list still advocate " working

through the pain " ? Does it depend upon where or what kind of pain it

is? Can't it contribute to joint damamge if done at wrong times?

(Editor's Note: I have had arthritis since I was 16. It is now 41 years later. I

absolutely believe it is best to work if you can because it gives you more money

(and that's a stress reliever), a reason to get out of bed and dressed each

morning and lots to think about besides your pain and self pity. However, you

cannot work successfully if your job requires you to use joints that you really

can't use. Many of us also reach the point where we are unable to work because

there are days where we just can't do it. I have decided to stop working after

36 years in part because of PA so I can understand where the point is where you

can't work. Kathy F)
