Guest guest
!! This group is so amazing......I am on Lisinopril......again. I went off it about a month ago because of muscle cramping and aching in legs and even in my abdomen. All of the symptoms quit a few days later. Now, I just went back on it again....as I prefer this for BP med. But this time.....I am using Spironolactone for a diuretic instead of Lasix. (furosemide). Have only been on for 3 days this time......so hopefully the muscle aches and cramping do not become a problem again. I have heard about Lipitor causing this too. Could it be a side effect of interaction of another med? Like a water pill? Wishing you the best! Marcia
Guest guest
The past three weeks, I have had terrible and very painful leg issues. They are not really cramps, but rather like my muscles are seizing up. When I lay down, or sit, the pain goes away, but the minute I start to walk, Oh Boy!! The pain has now spread to both legs and goes all the way down my shin bone. Before it was just around the knee and thighs. Has anyone had anything like this? My PCP thought it might be from my Lipitor, as statins can cause muscle pain. But it has not eased off and should have since I discontinued the Lipitor a week ago. Could it be something like the Humira? At the moment, I am trying a Medrol Prednisone pack, and hope it will afford me some relief. Any ideas, or anyone else had this problem? Thanks. in Poulsbo, WA
Guest guest
One of the primary side effects of Lipitor is muscle aches and from their ads on TV you are to contact your doctor immediately if you experience them. When I first developed the aching and muscle pain that ultimately led to my PsA diagnosis, the first thing my internist did was take me off Lipitor for a month (she said it would take that long to determine if that was the problem and I was on a fairly high dose because my cholesterol was very high - a genetic factor inherited from my Dad's side of the family.) She is someone who is very common sense, goes with the odds and said statistically, that was the most likely cause. It was only when the muscle problems didn't go away that she did further testing and sent me to a rheumatologist. Joanna Hoelscher
Guest guest
I used to have serious leg cramps too. They were so bad that I had trouble walking the next day. Then, someone told me to put a bar of soap in under the covers at my feet at night. I thought they were crazy and laughed. After 4 more nights of extreme pain I tried it and good grief, It worked. That was a year ago and no more cramps. My doctors think I am nutz but I know it works because I have tried it. I don't know if it works for everyone but it sure did cure my leg cramps. Let me know how things go Doug in NW Arkansas
Guest guest
I've had leg cramps on and off all my life. The kind that make you jump out of bed in agony. Recently, a friend recommended quinine (an ingredient in tonic water). I found some pills that dissolve under the tongue and it's been a miracle cure for me.
