Benadryl (and Claritin and Zyrtec) make my daughter like the

Engergizer Bunny on speed! :-o! The first time we found that out

was for a " sedated " EEG at the neuro's office. HA! They told me to

give it 30 min before the appointment. By the time we got there she

was bouncing off the walls. It was funny in an irrating way!

For my husband, it makes his body completely relaxed - where he can

barely stand - but his mind goes a 1000 miles per hour - so because

of that, he can't sleep.

I had to take Benadryl when I was on strict pregnancy bed rest. I

was on an anti-contraction drug (really an asthma drug, Brethine,

used for that) that made my heart rate about 170. Benadryl was the

only thing to calm it down. It made me pretty much sleep through

those four months in bed!
