Guest guest
Delaine they now are prescrib. remicade and methotr. together. testing has shown that a mix prevents joint damage. methotr. alone does not prevent joint damage. but ... this was just a test. long term it is not known if this mix will continue to prevent joint damage. i am on methotr. and take 12.5 mg. my white blood count was below normal last time, and this is a know side effect. i hope you are now talking 12.5 or less, and have talked about adding remicade w/you md?? anyone have the scoop on how BAD remicade is?? One man told me I would have to live with pain until the orthortic broke in. The orthortic was made of metal then. Needless to say he is no longer in business. I had molded insoles, I have had the whole shoe that molds to the foot, around the ankle, etc. Nothing helped cause my foot had turned to far and the outside of it was taking a beating. It had not only turned over to the right (right foot) it was also turning in. I wound up going to an Orthopedic surgeon who just operates on feet. I had an ankle fusion done. The doctor gave me a prescription for molded insole orthortics. I kid you not, it was like the second coming to me. As I have told others in the past, try to find a Doctor that specializes in feet only, Podiatrist, Orthopedic. I not saying go get an ankle fusion for once that is done it is forever. I was 62 yrs when I had it done. I don't know your age, but if you are young they might have another alternative. One would be to start putting you foot in a series of Orthotics to straighten the foot, etc. What ever you choose I pray that it works for you. I know I have been there and man does it smart :-) E
Guest guest
Hi all, My sisters' ulcerated foot, the specialist said was due to the CMT instead of Diabetes. She had orthotics made & SHE CANNOT WEAR THEM BECAUSE THEY DON " T FIT RIGHT!!! I was there when they made the orthotic, ( Is that the mold of her foot? Then they made the insert from the mold? ) Her foot had edema, pretty bad when they did this! No wonder it doesn't fit!! Her Dr. had specifically said to wait until swelling went down, but hosp. had sent these people in. Why in the ---- don't the podiatrists around here prescribe orthotics for us!! ( For myself & brother! We both order shoes from Masons. Thats the only place I knew of ww (4E) shoes until I found .) Its because they don't know beans about CMT!! I'm going to the MDA in Feb. & hopefully they will help me!! I'm pretty scared after reading what Will sent! about the ulcers. Its walking on hard floors that make my feet hurt! You don't know how much money I have wasted buying shoes that don't fit right! I walk on my ankles & that is what causes the pressure points! I could never find wide enough shoes & when i walked the outer edge of foot was hitting the edge of shoe, therefore causing the hurting & sores to form. I have been to a few Podiatrists & they never helped me! Well, sorry for my venting! Patsy ps I sure have learned a lot from all of you. Thanks
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, A couple of days ago I juiced beets and I had a little more then a cup of beet juice. It made me feel kind of sick. I had about two cups of beet juice yesterday and gave some to my Mom and we both vomit the juice up. I had drunk more beet juice the second day then I had drunk on the first day. Today I had a half a cup of beet juice and I seem to be fine. Maybe I should drink a little beet juice until my body gets used to it as I gradually increase the amount of beet juice I drink. Anyone else ever had this happen to them from drinking beet juice? My father said that it could be because I also juiced the beet leaves. Could that be true? Please send me some info. Thanx in advance. Claude
Guest guest
Beet juice is very potent....do not drink a full glass of it, or yes, it will make you sick. It is a great liver detoxifier, but do not overdo it! Just keep it at a small amount, about one beet, mixed with other juices, such as carrot, and other veggies. Beet leaves are great juiced, and these were not the cause of your sickness. It most likely was the large quantity you drank. Patty ---- Original Message ----- From: escort7980@... Guest guest
since were talking about pop is diet caffine free an alternative? p.s. I love diet caffine free pepsi, used to drink 2-3 bottles a day, now am down to one. What about unsweeetened tea? Guest guest
Diet caffeine-free drinks are okay. Unsweetened tea is fine if its decaffeinated. If you drink anything with caffeine, drink an extra serving of non-caffeinated to help counter the diuretic effects. I highly recommend (drumroll please... Crystal Light powder mixes. They come in a variety of flavors and are only 5 calories per serving with no caffeine. I also use sugar-free Countrytime mixes, particularly the lemon/strawberry flavor. Some people use coffee on their cardio days, 2 cups prior to working out, as a thermogenic. But remember that it doesn't count towards your total fluid intake.
