I am a whopping 212 pounds on a 5'6 " frame (used to be 5'8 " for all my adult

life until

those two missing inches disappeared in less than a three-year span...less fluid

in the

spinal discs? Age, etc.?)

I don't overeat. Don't eat sugar. Keep carbohydrates to a minimum. Eat lots of

broccoli,

carrots, cauliflower, and other favorite vegetables. I drink a good deal of

water. Eat several

small meals a day. I walk about 30 minutes a day, depending on energy levels

after work;

I teach elementary school and believe me, that takes some energy. Over a two

year time

period, I managed to take off 60 pounds. For the last year, I'm STUCK. I'm

not going up,

but I'm not going down. Being 56 probably has affected my metabolism.

Twice in the distant past, I successfully lost weight on the Medifast

protein-sparing liquid

diet, back in the days when it had to be medically supervised. Back it came,

binge eating

brought on by extreme stress. While stress is part of life, I seem to have

conquered the

binge eating problem.

I'm considering Medifast again. Doctor sees no problem with it, thinks it would

help my

knees especially (I agree). My vanity (yes, vanity, even at my age) screams

" Lose weight! "

every time I see a picture from the thin past or a picture from the not-thing

present.

Ever since we got XM radio, I find myself dancing around the house more (on bad

days,

just dancing from my chair). Maybe this will help burn off some calories, but

I'm really

frustrated at my present lack of success. Anyone know anything about the

over-the-

counter Medifast products available today, safety, etc.?
