Guest guest
So glad to hear your appt was productive. Please, could you expand on what infrared sauna and ozone therapy is? Thank you. We're looking into another round of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for our 12 yr old son. It costs thousands and with both of us with Lyme, we can only afford his treatment right now. Anyway, best to you with your next appts. Jillian wbartolomeo4 <wbartolomeo4@...> wrote:Hello all, Well we just returned from our visit to see Dr. and it was a very worthwhile visit! Thank you to all who helped me prepare!!! He confirmed that 's symptoms are from lyme and has highly recommended that we go see a neuropsychologist in NYC (either Risenberg or Shay). Have any of you heard of either of these folks? I'm not sure that I am spelling their names correctly. Here are a few comments from our trip: He said that he does not feel chelation is good unless you do a DMSA provoked 6 hr urine test and you find mercury, lead or arsenic to be high. He said he feels that the infrared sauna used with ozone every day is beneficial. He said to do this a minimum of 40 times and he said it should be a minimum of 2.4 (nothing less). Do any of you have a recommendation on where to purchase this? Thanks again for your support, Wende ---------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi Jillian, I did a search on the internet and it is basically hyperbaric oxygen at home. Dr. said to do it every day, if possible, and to do it a minimum of 40 times. I think they are close to $3 - $4K but I am going to search to (hopefully) find something cheaper. Yikes! Guest guest
If I can ask what is the sauna to help with? LD in general or something specific. We go to Dr. next week for another follow up. Amy
Guest guest
Dr told us that it's the heat that is good. The bacteria doesn't like the heat. We have a hot tub, and I asked him about our son using it, while on antibiotics. He said YES - AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. My take on it was that the heat kills the bacteria. Guest guest
JoAnne, I called him back today to find out where to purchase because I am overwhelmed by what is on the internet and then I also heard about steam sauna. He said he definitely wanted infrared with an ozonator. He also said that I would need to be sure the room is ventilated to make sure that ozone is not inhaled. I'm still unsure about what to buy though. Thanks so much for your input and I agree that he does feel the heat is an inhibitor for the bacteria. Wende > Dr told us that it's the heat that is good. Guest guest
Just wanted to let you all know, that my son, (I think) was cured by doctor . He is 9 now,and doing incredibly well. He was very sick with Lyme. The heat thing is SO true. Summer, exercise, hot tubs, hot baths, all made a difference with Mark. One thing I wanted to add--that I heard from some other source, is a detox bath. They were absolute LIFESAVERS for us--and I have heard from people I share this with, the same thing always. When they herx--fill a tub with as hot as they can stand water. Put epsom salts (I used two cups as I have a large tub) and two lg bottles of hydrogen peroxide. Have them soak at least 15 minutes--or longer if they will. It helps remove the dead spirochetes actually thru the skin. Sounded very hokie to me, but I swear it works. Mark would be miserable b4 the bath, and great afterward. People have even reported weighing themseves b4, and after, and losing up to 5 lbs!! All I know is, it worked amazingly when he was itchy, achy, and anxiety ridden. He would even ask for the baths after a while--he knew they worked. I just think detoxification with treatment is SO important. We would also use a long massage with essential oils of rosemary, ginger and black pepper.(sm amts) and it worked very well. Another of my favorites is ginger tea for stomach upset during massive ABX treatment. Works very, very well. In a pinch, I would use an OTC bag from the store, but if you get fresh ginger, grate it, and steep it in boiling water fro 5 minutes, strain off the ginger, and add some honey for taste, it is the best. Cures a s'ache and nausea almost immediately. Hope this helps you guys. I know how hard it can be watching your child go thru this, believe me. These things really helped our family cope---we had it down to a science!! Great luck to all of you and God bless!!---Laurie wbartolomeo4 <wbartolomeo4@...> wrote: JoAnne, I called him back today to find out where to purchase because I am overwhelmed by what is on the internet and then I also heard about steam sauna. Guest guest
Question to all, After visiting with Dr. last week, it was suggested that see another pediatric cardiologist LLMD. Dr. recommended Wm. Grubb in Crooksville OH. Has anyone been to see him? Or is anyone else seeing a LLMD closer? Thank you in advance for your responses.
