Guest guest
Hi Edith, When I switched from antibiotics to Buhner (actually for a while I took both and was miserable), it felt like I was finally getting some energy back. Antibiotics just seem to knock you out to the point of where you just cannot get off your couch. At least that is how I felt. I had a lot of problems getting used to some of the herbs, since they were both messing with my hormones (or at least that is what it felt like) as well as giving me a lot of possible Herxheimer reactions. It was harder to go from like one or two pills a day to three a day and then to three times two a day etc. Once I started to get up higher it was not so bad any more. I thought of it kind of like eating a new food (I think of my hers as my extra veggies anyhow: your body has to get used to them first. Best case scenario you are having Herxheimer reactions meaning you are actually scaring the bugs out of your system. Well, I hope it works for you and your pains get better soon. Also, are you taking any calcium and magnesium supplements by any chance? All my doctors always told me take magnesium. It helps a little to keep the electrolytes under balance. Best of luck. Guest guest
Yes, I take calcium and magnesium plus many other nutritional supplements and a liquid multi. I am just not sure if one needs to take the full Buhner dose or if it is okay to stay on a lower dose if one is feeling good on that dose. I am now up to 3 of each herb, 3 times a day, and have no problem taking 4 each: I also felt no different going from 3 each up to 4 each. Since Buhner mentions lowering the dose later on and finding out for oneself how low you can go and still feel good, my question is does anyone here know if one needs to take the full dose initially or is a smaller dose doing the job as long as one feels good on that dose. Guest guest
I just got the zithromax (suspension liquid) filled for my 6yo, 43lb son. Directions say to take 6.25ml/day. That is over double the dose another doc told me to give my 33 lb daughter. Does this seem right? Double seems like a lot more for only a 10lb difference in their weights. Or maybe my daughter's seems low? I'll call the doc tomorrow to make sure this is right, but thought I would check with you all to see what anybody thinks. Thanks, Dara
