Guest guest
Hi, I am just recovering from biopsy on my left ankle. Doctors want to make sure there is no infection before they operate to fuse my ankle joint. PA has completely destroyed my ankle. I have the type which only attacks one joint very badly. What I would like to ask is, has anyone out there had an ankle fusion and have they recovered well? Also after operation, if they try to reduce medication (methotrexate and sulphasazine and anti-inflammatories) will PA attack other joints. I have been told that methotrexate is prescribed to keep pa at bay. Hopefully operation will take away the pain. Look forward to any information Geraldine from Kent, England

(He has Osteo A) I know the reason they usually do the operation is to take away the pain. My right wrist has fused on its own. The pain was unbelievable while it was happening but now that it is fused. It is usually not too bad. I hope it works well for you should you go ahead with it. Take care,
