Guest guest
I know when I had left over Enbrel I brought them to my doctor and they gave it to patients who could not afford it.
Guest guest
Hello, I asked my Rheumy they said they would take them. They said they have several patients who do not have insurance and some that just have high copays. I don't know about you evean with insurance and resonable copays it sure would be nice to get something for free once in awhile. Remember it can't hurt to ask or maybe if you have a good pharmacist he knows someone who pays out of there pocket if your dr is afraid to give them out. Have and great day and stay well. from NJ
Guest guest
I know up here in Ontario Canada, Dr.'s are not allowed to give out meds that patients may give them to pass along to others. I recently offered a full package of sealed meds to my Dr. and was told it is against the law. The pharmacist told me the same. It is a waste. The facility I work at used to send drugs that were expiring in six months to Africa and that practice has also been stopped for legal reasons. Guest guest
I got a similar response from my Dr. when I asked if they could give them out. " No it is against the law " . My pharmacist wasn't interested either. Man I hate to see about $3000. go into the trash. What a world. --- In , June ston > I know up here in Ontario Canada, Dr.'s are not allowed to give out > meds that patients may give them to pass along to others. Guest guest
Wow. I can't believe that. $3000 dollars is a lot to trash when people need it so badly. If you are a praying person, I would pray about it and maybe you will cross paths with someone you can help. I remember a few years back when my son was allergic to an ADD med, that was expensive, the doc told me to bring it to her and she would give it out. I guess she was doing it on the " down low " haha. Good Luck, Tammie-VA
Guest guest
While it is technically illegal here as well, I think that docs that understand the expense, etc, will still find the right person to pass them on to; mine even asked w/in the practice to see if anyone else had a patient that could not afford, etc. I wonder if the Foundation that distributes Enbrel to those who cannot afford can take it? It has a lot to do with liability --including whether or not it was taken care of, refrig, etc. There might also be a homeless or low income clinic or through the local church clinics that might be able to take it. It's too expensive to go to waste!!!! Is there anyone on our list here that might be able to use it?? Cheryl M.
Guest guest
Ok, I pretty much have received " The Riot Act " email telling me I would be no better than a common thug distributing prescription drugs on the street if I gave my left over Enbrel to anyone. As Enbrel is by prescription only and a controlled medication. Go figure.....Can't even attempt to help a fellow man in the good ole USA. Now I feel dirty like a crack dealer. > > I have often wondered if there is some kind of clearing house to give > left over, sealed, good date meds like Enbrel? Guest guest
What is really sad is that it is so hard and expensive to get this medacine that people would be willing to break the law, technicaly, to help out another that is suffering.
