Not sure if I have introduced myself, but I have has ps since 1962

which is a very long time. I also have had RA since 1973. I

currrently take Pred - have lowered my dosage of years from 10

mg/day to 8 1/2 over the past few months - I can't tell you how

delighted I am. So, I take Pred, Methotrexate, and Enbrel.

Interestingly, none of the above have improved my ps - my legs are

covered. In fact, when I began Enbrel in about 1998/1999 the ps

began on my legs - for the first time ever. I wonder what that means?

Then this past March I had a life-threatening kidney infection,

during which I was on IV antibiotics of course and my ps went away.

My Rheumy said I probably had a secondary intection?? Possible I

suppose with scratching and all.

By late May it came back. It's driving me nuts. I've been using

1% cortaid, which keeps it tolerable.

My husband and I are currently in Colorado for the summer. When I

get home after Labor Day, I plan to visit a dermatologist. Haven't

seen one in years, so it is time I guess.

Odd that neither the pred nor the Mtx are helping. I shouldn't be

surprised since my bod has always worked in weird ways.
