Superboosted by Humira...

Hi all,

I rarely post but I thought I'd share some positive news. I've

recently started Humira (one injection every two weeks). After the

first shot, I felt 'superboosted' - lots of energy and great

reduction in pain. I had the second shot last Monday and I feel

great! Even feel well enough to go back to work and have started

looking for a job.

I got ill in 2003 and at one time or another have been on MTX,

Sulfasalazene, Celebrex, Steroids - all of which took the edge off

the condition a bit but not enough to get my life back and I

experienced horrible side effects whilst on them. For most of last

year I was in a very bad way - hardly able to move with the arthritis

and psoriasis increasing and appearing in new places. I would lay in

bed at night crying - not able to turn over - every movement extreme

agony. The difference Humira has made is incredible (and that's all

I'm taking at the moment - have even stopped anti-inflams). I'm

actually rushing around like a mad woman with loads of energy and

keep surprising myself with movements that I haven't been able to do

for 5 years, eg: yesterday, without even thinking about what I was

doing, I squatted down to reach something under my desk. Squatted

down.... I have barely been able to bend down, let alone squat

down. It wasn't pain free as I was using muscles that haven't seen

the light of day for 5 years - but the movement was possible - and it

was muscle pain rather than arthritis pain.

So maybe the point I'm making is, don't give up. Finding the right

medication that suits you, makes all the difference. I don't know

what the long term effects may be - but life has sure improved in the

short-term........

A-M x

I am so happy that you found something that is working for you. I to am taking

Humira and I swear I felt the same way. This drug is amazing. I know there

can/could be bad side effects to this drug but for me the benefit far exceeds

the risk. I have been taking Humira for 1 year now and so far so good.

Good Luck to you,

That is such good news! I'm happy to know that some can get relief

for their pain. I hope the Humira continues to work for you for a

long time!
