Guest guest
I was also treated with an antibiotic from my dermatologist for what she though was rosacia. The antibiotics " tore up " my stomach and did nothing to eliminate the redness on my nose and chin. To this day, I have no idea what is causing this redness....I have no veins that are visible...just all over redness. Any other input fro others on this list would be so appreciated. Thanks. , who is still in Poulsbo! Looks like cea and even occasionally like a Lupus butterfly rash , but it is not. I had skin biopsies for Lupus which both came back normal. My Derm treated me for cea bc she wasn't sure what it was either, but I decided to stop the month long antibiotucs...I just couldn't take it anymore. My rash comes and goes but is always there in some form, on the sides of my nose going down to my chin area, sometimes the forehead too. I think me rheum definitely thinks it is all related to the PA, bc he wanted me to start the Enbrel to try to knock out all 3 at once(P,PA,and Rash)-but it hasn't worked just yet. I am about to restart Enbrel this Friday ,after being sick a few weeks. I hope my little input helps you feel like it's not just you! All these mystery' symptoms make the doctors look at us funny sometimes...so it helps to know other people are experiencing the same thing:)
Guest guest
wow, I thought I was on my rosacea support. Last summer I woke up with the red face, bumps, itching etc and hung in almost a month without seeing any one about it. The itch under my chin finally drove me to the derm and indeed it was rosacea. It took a long time to clear, maybe 5-6 weks. The antibiotics were not kind to my stomach either, (doxycycline). I also used a sulfa based face wash followed by metro lotion. As if I don't have enough psoriasis potions to drown in my arsenal now includes these. The derm assured me rosacea was not an auto immune disease. Went to sleep with a clear face and woke up with rosacea. With all the reading I did it seems my abrupt onset was unusual (stress mediated perhaps?). I'm just now seeing a few papules on my nose...lovely....and I've developed a sty(chalazion) under my left eye, all related . So I guess my dx was correct though I held out hope it was a missed dx with a fluke response to the treatment! One day at a time I guess. I still get by with Indocin for the Ps A so I feel " lucky " in that regard.....Wishing all pain free days, Mo At 08:54 PM 2/17/2006, you wrote: >I was also treated with an antibiotic from my dermatologist for what >she though was rosacia. I am also encouraged that you are wanting to quit smoking, I quit 1.5 years ago and feel free from the addiction! You will feel better soon if you follow this diet, I've been on it for 3+ months and enjoy being more awake now than I ever have in my whole life. Welcome to the group! -amy in Pittsburgh > I just began a diet of no sugar, and low carb but this is difficult as i am always hungry. I am also quitting smoking of 40 years.
