Guest guest
ASM, I haven't had hair loss while on Enbrel. In fact, my hair has grown back. I lost about third of it off the top of my head from being on methotrexate. I have been on Enbrel for 3 years now, and it nice to have my curly locks back. Have you had your thyroid checked lately? You can lose your hair when you thyroid is out of whack. Guest guest
I am male. When I was taking Enbrel, I noticed an increase in hair to places I'd never had nothing but fuzz before - like my belly!
Guest guest
Thanks for following up! Fuzz on the belly, hmmm... At this point, I'd take it. :-) > > I am male. Guest guest
I haven't in years, but my gastro-guy and dermotologist asked about this. I wasn't blessed with good veins, so when they tried to get labwork, nothing. I will go back next week to try again and we'll see what the results say! Thanks for the thoughts, Carol! asm > > ASM, > > I haven't had hair loss while on Enbrel. In fact, my hair has grown back. I lost about third of it off the top of my head from being on methotrexate. Guest guest
Sorry about your hair falling out, I had the same thing happen to me, I felt like I lost half my hair, My family told me that it didn't look that bad but I didn't believe them, every one would say don't get so upset you can get a wig. I went to 3 different Doctors and they all said the same thing. They said It was a side from the Enbrel. I was on Enbrel for 2 years until the doc took me off because of some bad side effects that I started to have. They put me on Remicade last June and my hair grew back. But now I am having side effects with the Remicade and the Doc is thinking about taking me off of it, I am ready to Give up, every time I think something is working and I am going to beat this, I get knocked down with more bad news. Hopefully yours want get as bad as mine did, but please check with your Doctor to make sure something else isn't going on that may be causing your hair to fall out. Guest guest
Asm, When you have the bloodwork done, you might have them take the blood from somewhere other than at the crook of you elbow. It is very difficult for me to get blood from there, as my veins have kind of been used up from all the blood testing for methotrexate. For me, I usually tell them to take it out of the back of my hand, I have really big veins there because I do medical transcription for a living. They can also try the side of your wrist or even you legs. Anywhere an IV can go, is a place to get blood. When they take my blood, they also use a butterfly IV in a size for a child, which makes it easier to get into smaller veins. Guest guest
Good luck, Sheila. If it's not one thing, it's another. I know exactly what you mean! I hope that they find an appropriate med for you. I know you did not solicit ideas, but I hope this helps at least from a mental standpoint. I have been fast walking, running a little, and weight lifting very light weights. So far my mood is better. I might even try yoga. I am trying to be honest with myself about what I need and what clears my mind. It is hard, but worth a shot. Thanks for sharing your experiences. The wig thing is a back up, even if I hate the thought of it like you indicated as well! I will get more info on my thyroid late next week, so that's a step in determining the hair loss. We'll see... Guest guest
Good thoughts! I will pass along the other locales. I do know about the buttefly needle. Big fan!! Thanks, Carol. asm > > Asm, > > When you have the bloodwork done, you might have them take the blood from somewhere other than at the crook of you elbow. Guest guest
I haven't had it on my scalp in over 6 years. I did lose some hair then. Now it is more like shedding. Did yours shed or was the hair loss part of patchy, psoriatic areas? I will definitely watch it, though, and have others check me, too. Please let me know what happens when you go back to Enbrel. asm > > Hi, Do you have p on your scalp.I have hair loss when the p gets out of control..My hair gets really thin at times..On enbrel and off..I am about to restart the enbrel so I will let you know... > > Vickey
Guest guest
Since this is my line of work, I would say that your foot is an option (the last one but it is one) and a lot of blood tests can now be done with a finger stick, a CBC (complete blood count) and liver panel..etc... it's messy and a pain for the Phlebotomist or PCT but it can be done. ~ cacombe@... wrote: Asm, When you have the bloodwork done, you might have them take the blood from somewhere other than at the crook of you elbow. Guest guest
Thank you as well. I know being well hydrated is helpful, too, from a practical standpoint. I will check out the foot and finger if it gets to that. I appreciate the expertise! asm > Asm, > > When you have the bloodwork done, you might have them take the blood from somewhere other than at the crook of you elbow.
