Guest guest
Has she been checked for GERD... sometimes in children it will present as a tickle in the throat..when really what is happening is the fluid is coming up from the stomach through the esophogus and causing a cough.. You might want to go check out that route while your at it.. (poly JRA and Spondy, 19)
Guest guest
Hi Kim, has never had a lung collapse but before we had his tonsils taken out any time he caught a viral infection he would cough for weeks or even months. His was a dry barking cough with the same tickle in his throat. He coughed all winter last year and I kept having to tell his preschool teacher that it's just post-viral cough and they just had to deal with it.It would get so bad at times it would make him throw up.We usualy have 2 types of cough medicine on hand.Prescription non narcotic for school and narcotic at night. The later reserved for lack of sleep or throwing up from the cough. Guest guest
I have had several friends (and my mom) who developed a chronic cough from blood pressure meds (don't know which ones). They all got better with a change in meds.
Guest guest
and all, I just read something about some forms of Zicam being recalled or put behind the counter, meaning you have to ask for it and be over 18.
Guest guest
its a question of extremes i suppose. For me i know that i have excess liquid in the E at bedtime. Solution is expelling it. I do by contracting diagpragm, forcing excess out through mouth. Maybe need to repeat once. But it's not severe vomiting like mentioned in other posts. It's finding what works for you, thats all ... Guest guest
Excellent post. I didn't explain what I do when I " throw up " , however, I do exactly what you described. Guest guest
I have been sick with a cough since November and have had all kinds of test run but can not find the problem. The doctor stopped all my meds for about three months. The couch suppressed and was getting better. So the doctor started me back on my Humira and methotrexate and the couch started up again. Right now I have stopped the methotrexate to see if that was the problem. Couch not as bad. but the psoriasis and sorry have returned on my feet and hands. does anyone else have same with the cough I don't see my doctor til June trying to see if meds are causing the cough again. Guest guest
You may want to ask your doctor if he has ruled out interstitial pneumonitis. I don't think it necessarily shows up on an Xray like pneumonia would. One of my coworkers has been taking MTX for her P and PA as well, and we talk quite a bit about the differing treatments. She ended up terribly sick with respiratory issues and ended up in ICU from what was ultimately diagnosed as the interstitial pneumonitis. They said that can be a rare side effect from the meds. Maybe getting a consult with a pulmonologist to rule that out wouldn't be a bad idea? Guest guest
I had a constant but low key cough and never ran a fever since I was immune suppressed on 2 DMARDs at the time It turned out to be MRSA. a VERY persistent ENT at Columbia Pres MANAGED TO CULTURE IT FROM MY SINUSES. Guest guest
Hi. I did that too, and they did not help very much. What made the difference was going on a GERD-compliant low-acid diet. Have you tried that? It took abut six weeks for the cough to clear up completely, and I felt like I had a new life. Jerome In a message dated 4/18/2012 12:00:14 A.M.
