Garrett - ask the doctor who is thinking about prescribing Enbrel for

you to get this info. They are able to get through to insurance

companies better than we are! Or, have the pharmacist do it. I've had

good luck with both approaches.

best of luck to you,

I take Enbrel and my current health care only covers 30% of it. As it

is QUITE expensive I would never be able to afford the difference. I

called Enliven services and they covered the rest up to about hundred

dollars. It was fairly easy to enroll but you have to be new to the

medicine. If you go to enbrel.com and then patient support, it will

walk you through the steps.. I hope this helps

Garrett:

I don't know about CIGNA, but I can share with you my costs via Blue

Cross just to help you start establishing a range in your mind. I was

told by a pharmacist that the retail price of Enbrel was $1,800 per

month (I've heard other places it can be as much as $2,200 per month.)

I have PPO coverage through Blue Cross, and with that my co-pay was

originally about $425 per month. Through some digging and finally

talking with an Amgen rep face-to-face, I found out about a " member

loyalty " program through Amgen called Enbrel Easy Step that has no

income requirements--the only requirement is that you have health

insurance. Now my monthly co-pay is only $75 per month! :) Big

difference! :) For information about this program, call 877-777-6703.

They may be able to help set you up through CIGNA as well.

Best of luck, let us know how it goes!

Happy 4th of July everyone I stopped taking Enbrel about 3 months ago

after reading some of the posts regarding the cost of the co pays for

Enbrel it really makes me appreciate my Blue Cross & Blue Shield of

NJ coverage I only had to pay my regular prescription co pay of 15

dollars a month the only exception was I had to use mail order but

that worked out just fine they delivered it right to my door once a

month and it only cost me 15 dollars find out if you can get yours

cheaper though the mail it night save you a lot of money Good luck LINDA

Hi Garrett,

I have a Cigna PPO " Select " , and it has been a God send. I

(actually my dr.)had to jump through some hoops to prove that I needed

Enbrel, but they were very reasonable about it. Once my dr. showed

that she had tried the preferred meds and had no success (I was

allergic to one or two and the other one or two just didn't do enough

for me), I received my injections for $40 a month. I am now on Humira,

and they have lowered it to $30/ month!

Now, I know Cigna has a lot of different plans out there, but

hopefully you will find a similar situation.

To all,

Jumping in on the bandwagon, I have Aetna Preferred and make the normal $20

co-pay every month for my Enbrel. The only restriction is I must use their mail

order pharmacy and they don't honor the mfg rebate card for the co-pay. They

will however provide a detailed invoice every month which I send in every 90

days for a $60 refund which works out the same...

I would try their web site if they have none or have the MD write the scripe and

take it to the pharmacy and let them run it through .. I had Humana insurance

and it was going to cost me $364 per month for 4 prefill injections.. Something

I could not afford as I was in the same boat as you are now.

Good Luck

Does anyone out there take Enbrel and have CIGNA as their health plan?

I am just trying to figure out how much this drug will cost me, as I

am embarking on school, car, wedding, honeymoon, and relocation

expenses over the next couple of years but would like to stop my

recently diagnosed PA.. I have tried calling but can not get through

to a human, so if anyone has CIGNA, if you wouldn't mind telling me

how much this drug costs you wither per month or per year.

Thanks, Garrett
