Judy, I too have a sleep disorder. Chronic Insomnia. We had a recent

poll on 'sleep' you might be interested in. Just go to

Apparently my problem dates back to my Ritalin days as a teen. Took it

for the CMT fatigue.

I did experience jerking while sleeping. I also did the sleep study, and was

given a Bi-pap for breathing issues.

Lately I've been having problems with jerking as I fall asleep. It seems

that the more tired I am, the more likely I am to have twitches. When my

right leg jerks, if I'm asleep I wake up thinking I've been hit with

electricity. But mostly it's upper torso twitches.

I too experience this, but not to the extent of what you described. And yes

it wakes me right up! Almost fell out of bed a few times. It is like you

are hit with a strong volt. It really is a full body jerk. Hope you get

some answers.

I have been experiencing jerking while asleep. I will wake myself or my

husband during these episodes. At times it happens to my legs then it will

switch to my upper extremities. I just spent three days in the hospital

being tested for seizures. My reults were negative. Now the neuorologist

wants me to do a sleep study. Has anyone else experienced this? I need some

help with this. I am exhausted the following day.

No, unfortunately, no brothers! He is my dream-come-true, my Prince Charming!!!

I only know of one other man who does this and it's my father! He massages my

mom's feet every night! He's the one with CMT, but his feet are too sensitive

to be touched. However, my mom loves it! It took a lot of years to find a man

as wonderful as my Daddy. I finally found him on Match.com. It's a great place

to look for any who are still searching!
