Guest guest
Welcome to ! Hello, my name is Robynn and I am the list owner of . I apologize for such a long welcome letter. However, the information in this letter is VERY important. Please read through this entire letter. You may want to keep a copy of it on an important part of your computer for later reference. If at any time you have ANY questions please feel free to write me at -Owner . First, and MOST IMPORTANT: is solely a support group. There are NO doctors to monitor this list. Medical information posted to this list is often times wrong! NEVER follow the medical advice found on this group without FIRST checking with your doctor. Always ask your doctor before adjusting medications, or starting or stopping medications. Always ask your doctor about new or scary symptoms. The people on this list do not have medical degrees, they do not know your medical history or the particulars concerning your child. They do not know how to treat Lyme disease over the Internet. All they can do is describe how this disease has affected them and their families and what experiences they have had with certain medications / products / treatment protocols. While knowing the experiences of others can be quite useful, please, always follow YOUR doctor's advice. is supported by an email relay server. This means that you send a message to one email address ( ) and the server ( www. ) sends your message to every member of the list. This allows individuals to communicate with large numbers of people quickly and efficiently. This also allows large numbers of people to communicate with you. It is possible to receive many messages a day from . If you feel you are getting too much email from this group you have two options for limiting the number of messages you receive. First, you can change your subscription to a " Daily Digest " form. Every 24 hours, the digest mode will bundle all the messages from into a single email message with an index at the top. Instead of many individual messages, you would only receive one long message. Second, you can change you subscription to " No Mail " and read the messages from the website whenever it's most convenient for you. If you would like instructions for either of the options above just send me an email at and I would be happy to explain further. As noted above, all messages should be sent to . For your convenience you may want to place this address in your email address book. You can also reply to any message that is posted. WHEN YOU REPLY, please keep in mind that the list has already seen the original post you are replying to. Please delete any part of the original message that does not pertain to your reply, especially the " footer " at the end of all messages. If you use the reply function, but are changing the subject topic, change the subject header as well. This will help all of us as we follow discussion threads. It is also a great help when searching the archive for a specific topic. It is VERY important that Digest members delete the entire digest before sending their message onto the list! Every message posted to is saved and " archived " . To access this archive go to / . Because every message is saved for what may be eternity, it is very important for all of us to pay attention to what we post. Please remember, this is NOT private email. Many people will read what you send to the list. Almost anyone with a little computer savvy can access what you have been posting to . For this reason, you may want to keep some private information private, especially phone numbers and addresses. Even though I just told you that what is posted isn't very private, we do try as hard as possible to keep discussions on our list on OUR list. Do not copy, forward, or use another person's personal material in any way unless you ask that person first! There is much information posted to Lyme Aid Parents that can be copied and shared with anyone, this includes, but is not limited to, news articles, journal articles, web sites, and other public information. However, this list is designed to help and support one another. That means there will be a lot of personal dialogue in the email, this is personal and private, and should be respected as such. A great place to find informative is in our Links and Files sections. /links /files/ Please visit these sections at least once to see what they are like. You will begin getting email messages from immediately. Feel free to read a few before you send us your first email. When you do send your first email, a great thing to do is introduce yourself a little. Please ask any questions of us you might have. This group is really great about trying to answer everyone's questions. If, however, you ask a question and get no reply back, don't feel rejected. Sometimes our members just get busy with other things. Feel free to ask again or send your question directly to me at -owner . If your child is a young adult they may be interested in joining a support group of their own. Lyme Warriors is a support group for young people with Lyme disease. To learn more about Lyme Warriors please see their website at: Lyme_Warriors/ . If you're looking for more general and current Lyme disease information you may want to check out my information only list at Robynns_Lyme_List/ . THANK YOU for reading all of this! I hope this list works out for you. However if it does not and you wish to unsubscribe, please send a blank email to -unsubscribe . Remember, if you ever have any questions, about this list or one of the others that I have mentioned, you can email me at the following address: -owner . I will do my best to get back to you right away with the best answer I can come up with. =) Talk with you soon!
