Hey Beth, How are you and Miss Hannah?

I am never surprised by any of these diagnoses anymore. It;s all gotta be related somehow. And even if the experts say JIA is not hereditary, I believe that there just HAS to be some genetic connection.

I mean, my niece was diagnosed with Type-1 Diabetes within months of Bayly's JIA dx. And there has never been either of these autoimmune diseases in our family before- that we know of.

Then, last year my father was finally diagnosed with Bipolar-Disorder. (I say 'finally' because that's no surprise for anyone who knows him.)

Again, no previous diagnoses of that condition in our family (although many rellos with "issues", shall we say. I myself have had Depression.)

But I have since learnt that all three things- Juvenile Diabetes, JIA, and Bipolar, all are involved with Chromosome 6.

So even though they are not the same thing, they come from the same genetic marker.

I so hope your back plays nice for you. (I have to say, mine has been almost 'normal' since I had my steroid shot. Haven't had to use my walking stick once since then! Yay!)

  • 2 years later...

I just noticed today when going through old Dr.'s notes.....

In March of this year I had a weird sty type thing going on w/ my eye and the

Dr. treated me w/ Doxy.... I only took the doxy for a couple days (long enough

for my eye to clear up)

A week and a half later I went in with my original lyme complaints.... feeling

fluish tired achy but no vomitting or anything.

Could this be related?

Could I have been beginning to herx??

What do you guys think?
