When a test of my husbands was not done..I called Igenex...they are still

able to to do test...just some were up for the reaccreditation...no politics,

just paperwork...supposedly a few weeks ago it was all submitted and Igenex

was just waiting for the approvals to come back. My husbands test, for

babesia was NEVER done, we shall see this week about mine....I would not have

a problem with Igenex sending the blood to BBI for testing as BBI

is a respected lab used by LLMD's...there is a range of how long blood

specimens are good for..I would trust Igenex to get it there within the

proper time over any other lab...I had a WB, that was never processed till

AFTER a week and I had to inform the Dr. it was not a valid test result, as

the crappy lab was not about to lose $$ by NOT running a test they were

supposed to follow up on..Bernadette

Kellie,

s numbers are too high. They mean SOMETHING is going on in his

liver. OR...they mean the treatment is causing them to elevate. When

I did Infergen mine skyrocketed to 780. Soon as I stopped treatment,

they dropped. I stopped treatment that time because I got

Diverticulitis.

Call the Dr and ask him what is going on with s' enzymes. They

should not be that high. His level of inflammation could be going up

as well. How are his Albumin, Bilirubin, WBC, RBC, and Platelets??

LeighAnn,

We have a call in the Dr.'s, will be hearing back today. Here's the numbers.

...

Albumin 3.7, Bilirubin 1.5, WBC 2.0, , RBC 3.37 and platelets are at 27 The

last time he had an endoscopy they infused him with platelets and he

actually held onto them a little longer than expected, but now they are

dropping again

When you stopped treatment were you responding, or no? These are the

questions I was asking about before....my gut has been telling me something

isn't right.

Let me know what the dr says Kelli. These numbers are the result of

the treatment most likely. I know mine went into the toilet. His

platelets are WAY too low. They should have stopped treatment, or

lowered the dosages, when he went below 50,000 platelets. Make sure

he is VERY careful not to cut himself. His WBC are also way too low.

He needs to either lower the dosage or stop treatment until those 2

numbers come back up. WBC should not be below 3.

Nope, I never responded to treatment. Not in the sense that the virus

went away. That never happened. BUT....my liver damage stopped and I

have not progressed any further than Stage 3 Grade 2 in the past 2

yrs so that is a VERY good thing. Besides, I'm a terrible example.

I'm the Poster Child for Non Responders! hahahaha

Hi Kelli,

how's everyone? Hey, my counts are sooo much lower than that, (50),

and that's the highest they've ever been--so I've no idea what

happens when the liver is affected as much as 's. I'll see

what I can find out, too.

thanks, LeighAnn

the Doctor called yesterday.....said that if platelets drop to 20, he's off,

same with ALT's and AST's. if they go to 500, that's it.

is treated in SF. they are very aggressive there; seems risky to me

but that's the way they do it.

At least everybody is on board now with all the latest numbers.

Who is his Dr? Talk to him before letting him stop treatment

altogether. They can lower the dosages and put him on Nupogen or

something like it, to help get his WBC back up. That would also help

the platelets.

As for his AST, it has nothing to do with the hepc and most dr's

don't even consider it a factor. The ALT is just an indicator of

inflammation. Ask if they can do an ultrasound to see if there is

something else going on there.

Anyone have any experience with Medical Diagnositc Laboratory in New Jersey? My

LLMD ordered some co-infection tests there, and they take my insurance. All of

my other testing was done at Igenex, but he thought they did a good job with

these specific tests.

I took my daughter to a different LLMD who says to only use Igenex. If there are

any tests that are ok to do at another lab that takes my insurance I would

rather do that.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Dara

funny thing--your post came in AFTER the person who replied to it ( win6060) I

wonder why there is a delay or tangled order of arrival now with postings??

in any case Dara I replied to your post that MDL is very reputable and even was

involved in the very beginnings of getting Bartonella recognized as tick borne.

if you need more info feel free to email me

thanks patty for the clarification.?I appreciate your taking the time.

As far as I know, MDL uses similar procedures as other labs such as " DNA

Amplification " which makes looking for the needle in the haystack more

likely--its like cloning more needles. but that still wont guarantee any of the

" extra " needles can be found.

I havent heard other complaints about MDL, other than ?that which are what we

all face: all tests from all labs (including Igenex) arent close to reliable.

Many can have results that vary, change and arent correllated with sx.therefore,

Its a problem with the tests and not always or necessarily the labs.

When my D levels dropped to 10 (I'm assuming that this is your Hydroxy Vitamin D

test), I used 5,000 iu daily to bring it up to 68.

I believe your ferritin is a bit low too. Optimal levels would be above 50;

although, some believe it should be above 70. I think this is individual and

something to discuss with your doctor. Perhaps someone with more knowledge on

iron can tell you why your iron stores are low, but it appears like usable iron

is not. I think you'd need an iron saturation to shed more light though.

Your glucose looks a bit high. You might try 1 tablespoon of cinnamon daily

mixed in with some unsweetened applesauce or vanilla yogurt to help lower it.

I'd shoot for around 80.

I effectively lowered my CRP by adding Resveratrol, Metagenics EPA/DHA (Omegas)

and CoQ10 to my supplements. You may also try some curcumin. All are

anti-inflammatory and should help reduce the inflammation.

Your FT3 looks good. You are just above the half way point on the range. Some

feel best with their numbers in the top 1/3 to 1/4 of the range. Again this is

individual.
