Hi,

My name is Pam and I am new to the group.

I was just diagnosed with PA last week and was put on mtx...

However, I first started having problems in 1991 with my feet and

hands. I also had a skin condition on my leg and I could not get rid

of it. The dr said it was exezma??? Finally, it cleared up only to

come back on the other leg...It finally cleared up and I stayed clear

for several years...

I kept having an achy feeling and problems with my hands and feet..At

one time, I was on crutches...The dr's could not figure it out..Then,

I finally went to a Rhmy and he dx me with sjogrens and Fibro.....

He put me on lodine and darvocet..later Topamax, sleeping pills,

flexrill, etc.................

I later was dx with obstructive sleep apena...I was/am exhausted and

the pain was getting worse....The worst was in my neck and lower

back/mid back.....I went to see all kinds of dr's..Finally, I went to

UAB in Birmingham and had a 6 " metal plate inserted in my neck...That

did help some of my problems...However, the pain was still there...

At that point, I had just reached my 25 year mark where I worked and

I retired...

My pain continued and I went to another dr at UAB and he said I had

PA...I have lost two of my toenails and the rest all have ridges and

I am broken out once again on my inner thighs this time..UGH

So, I came back home to my Rhmy and told him what the dr at UAB had

said and he agrees.....

I guess it is a relief to know what I have, I just wish they had

found it out a lot sooner.......Maybe, my neck could have been

saved...Have any of you had to have back or neck surgery?? Is this

part of the PA???

Pam
