Guest guest
You might want to check with your doctor to see if there is fibromyalgia in addition to the P.A. It causes what my doctor calls " fibromyalgia fog " and can result in the kinds of things you're talking about, I am retired but in my case it was an inability to concentrate. I love reading and have all my life; suddenly I found myself not able to remember what I'd just read two minutes before. Guest guest
I am not currently on any medications having been very newly diagnosed and don't know if this is the same thing but for several years I have had episodes of overwhelming tiredness. These episodes might be several times a day for a few weeks then almost disappear and come only a couple times per month. I described them to my Dr. as a " wave " that would come over me and it was next to impossible to stay awake. I had to make a pact with her to restrict my driving to work or anything more that 20 -25 minutes . I now work the same shifts as my husband at work- of course some of my co-workers think I have made up the whole illness thing just so I could work the same days as my hubby. How I wish I had made up all these symptoms .... Brain fog??? I thought it was just a result of getting older, etc- I am 52.
Guest guest
Hi June, There is a certain amount of fatigue associated with PA as well as fibro, and I have both, so I experience tiredness a lot. The episodes I had like the ones you describe where you can fall asleep at the drop of a hat subsided when I got my CPAP machine. I think I have finally gotten used to the thing. It took me almost 4 months. My episodes were almost narcoleptic. I would fall asleep in the middle of my favorite tv shows even. My doctors wouldn't pay any attention to my complaints because since I have fibromyalgia and my sleep at night is sometimes problematic, they decided that was why I would sleep in the day time. Now, CPAP puts me to sleep and usually keeps me asleep for at least 4 to 5 hours. Amazing!! Janet in Ca
Guest guest
June Don't feel bad, I have the same episodes myself and I am 40. I come home from work and go straight to bed. I sometimes think it maybe due to the pain I experience in my shoulders at night. It really irritates my husband because I don't spend time with him. Guest guest
Hi there, Interesting that you should mention PA and your love of reading. One of the most frustrating thing for me when my fingers and wrists flare is not being able to turn pages comfortably. I try audio books but it just isn't the same as cracking open the spine of a good read and turning the pages.
Guest guest
You are so young. Did the meds not work for you or what? You seem to be suffering so. Joanna Hoelscher 630-833-7361
