Well done Notan,

I had quite a giggle with your turkey message.

We have a lot of Americans living here in Alice Springs. Even though we

don't celebrate Thanksgiving and Halloween in Australia, we do with our

American friends here.

Happy Thanks Giving to all.

I am glad you enjoyed it.

I was told to be on a soft diet for two weeks, and I decided that

Thursday was it, two weeks from the surgery even if not two weeks from

my release. Everything was swallowed just fine. I did eat a lot less

than normal and had no desire for pie, (very strange for me), because

it would have been too much for the now small stomach.

It seems we all are told different things about what to eat and for how

long after surgery. Perhaps this is just a difference in surgeons or

perhaps it also is because some of us will need a different diet. Mine

was easy to remember, soft, no bread, no meat, and nothing crunchy. I

was also warned specifically to stay away from things like corn chips

which have sharp edges because until the myotomy heals it is very thin

and could be perforated by something sharp. I don't think I had heard

that before.

Thanks for the good wishes cathy!

This group is great.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Blessed Solstice, and

so on. Whatever holiday anyone celebrates at this time of year, here's

hoping we can all enjoy a happy one.
