Guest guest
Well, I saw the Opthamologist today and yes indeedy, I have a cataract in my right eye. So surgery bound I am. I did ask him if he thought it was related to the PUVA treatments or the PA or what. He felt I was very young to have a cataract and felt it was probably due to the PA and possibly my Prednisone use. Although I have never been on Prednisone for long periods at a time, usually just a few weeks during a flare where I couldn't walk, so he is more convinced it is due to the PA in some way. Then I get home and am chewing gum and I crunch on a cap that fell off one of my teeth. So now I am feeling like life is over, I have cataracts and my teeth are falling out, what next...a broken hip and Alzheimer's?? (joking) Jeez, I just turned 47 last week, good thing I still look good for my age! Boy are looks deceiving! Anyway, I am happy about my eye, it could have been worse. I guess I meed to check with my Rheumy, I suppose I will have to stop the Enbrel for a while with the surgery. That sucks, because although it hasn't done much for the P on my hand, it sure has helped the joint pain and I will miss it. It is snowing outside here, hard to believe already! Hope everyone else is feeling ok! Remember laughter is the best medicine........so smile and think of something funny. A good belly laugh always makes me feel good!
