today. We talked quite a bit about my back (I have had DJD for over

a year and it is now affecting my hips). I mentioned to her that my

hands (especially my thumbs) have been hurting quite bit lately and

that some days its really painful to use my thumbs. She said that

she did not think it was RA, but said there are definite degenerative

changes happening in my hands. She also told me (Here's the strange

part) that I have Hyper-mobility Joint Syndrome and Overuse

Syndrome! I have never, ever told her that those are the diagnosis

they are looking at for Hannah. I have only told her what I tell

everyone, that she has some form of arthritis.

get all those results when I go to work tomorrow, unless something is

really abnormal, then she will call me today yet. She also took me

off Mobic and has me starting 800mg Ibuprofen three times a day to

see if helps my back more. I can still take Tramadol when its really

bad (I try to never use the vicodin).

Hi Helen:

Yes I did mention it, and she said that is definitely hereditary. She was also really familiar with Ehler's-Danlos, which is the other thing they are watching Hannah for. She also suggested that if they do the genetic testing on Hannah for this, that I should get tested too, you never know. We will mention all this at Hannah's next appt, which won't be until late summer.

I will keep an on eye on the stomach, good think is I already day Omeparazole everyday for GERD, so I think I will be OK.

I'll let everyone know the results of the labs when I get everything back.

Beth & Hannah, both with Hypermobility & Overuse Syndrome (Hannah with asthma; gerd; daily migraines)

Sending prayers & happy thoughts,

Beth :-)

  • 2 years later...

Im unsure of what youre asking. Herxes are the result of dying bacteria--some

feel it takes enough bacteria to be there and then in addition, enough to die

off before youll get a true " herx " reaction.

Could the few days of Doxy have done that for you?? cant really say.Especially

since it was a whole 10 days later that you had the symptoms. Usually there isnt

that gap time. ( taking meds, stopping them and waiting for days then a " herx " )

could it have simply sparked some symptoms to come out--possibly but the stye

itself may have sparked that too--any other infection or inflammation can

increase or even poke Lyme symptoms. So thats how it may be related. and keep in

mind feeling tired and achey can even be from the stye too.

[i wonder why your Dr didnt give you eye ointment or drops instead of ingesting

doxy??]

F.

[ ] coincidence????

I just noticed today when going through old Dr.'s notes.....

In March of this year I had a weird sty type thing going on w/ my eye and the

Dr. treated me w/ Doxy.... I only took the doxy for a couple days (long enough

for my eye to clear up)

A week and a half later I went in with my original lyme complaints.... feeling

fluish tired achy but no vomitting or anything.

Could this be related?

Could I have been beginning to herx??

What do you guys think?

It's strange you mentioned that. My son has an appt with a Lyme specialist in

Jan. He has had a positive ELISA test, and he always has all kind of stys and

weird things on his eyelid.

Hugs
