Guest guest
hey folks. i went to a new rheumy yesterday. this is my 4th one, and so far he seems to a great doctor. it's amazing what a good bedside manner can do for a visit. i've had docs who wont even look at me when they speak. this guy was super friendly, very knowledgeable, and talked to me like an old friend. some docs have a tendency to preach or talk to their patients like they're better than you or something. the guy i saw yesterday was also obviously fascinated by PA and it was quite apparent he knew his stuff. after explaining my reluctance to take any serious drugs (MTX or enbrel etc.) he told me that if he were me, and knowing everything that he does, he'd want to be on humira ASAP. he told me that it's about to be approved for PA and it has better results clearing up the P than enbrel (i'm about 30% covered with P). he said he's got samples of it and wants me to try it for a little while to see if i like it. he wants me to start on friday! i'm definitely still reluctant though. does this mean i'll have to be on this stuff for the rest of my life? i know they say that it can clear you and you can stop taking it, but is that likely? he said that with PA, " all bets are off " because it behaves differently with everyone. i'm just scared that as soon as i stop taking something, P and PA will come back worse than it was before i took it. right now things are very bearable - i'd hate to mess with it. so what if i have a deformed toe... it's not getting in the way. anyone on humira? any advice? thanks for reading!
