Guest guest
I have a question that is along this topic of Enbrel or Humira and colds. What doctor are you suppose to see? Do you call your rheumy? Or your primary doctor? I just had my Humira dosage frequency increased and I have noticed a sore throat especially in the morning, sinus congestion, and my stomach has been upset. My son, who is 5, has been sick for 3 weeks. I took him back to his peditrician, but I also made an appointment with my doctor this past Friday. I had called my rheumy, but she is out of town until this Wednesday. So, the doctor I saw, was more interested in wanting to know how I got this disease. She could not understand how someone could just " all the sudden " get this. As she poked and proded and I kept tell her, duh, I have Fibro, needless to say, she told me she does not give out narcotics, which I was not looking for. I wanted to make sure I did not have a sinus infection or something, so it was a wasted visit, which I guess somehow, I knew it would be. I have read the warning sheet, which Humira, how do you know when you are getting sick vs side effects. Sorry, still trying to figure this out. So, do you see your rheumy when you are sick? Confused........ Debbie
Guest guest
I tend toward sinus infections since on Enbrel. One thing I find helpful is using a Rhino Horn (which I prefer) or Neti Pot type thing to rinse my nasal passages during cold & flu season. Sometimes it can stave off infections for me. -Marietta > Hi Debbie > This time of year is a time especially for more allergies and colds. > I am also suppose to go on antibiotics right away. when I feel it is > getting worse or go off enbrel for a few weeks for my immune system to work > I also have sore throats this time of year ( I have been on enbrel for > many years)
Guest guest
Hi Debbie This time of year is a time especially for more allergies and colds. I am also suppose to go on antibiotics right away. when I feel it is getting worse or go off enbrel for a few weeks for my immune system to work I also have sore throats this time of year ( I have been on enbrel for many years) and I am not sure where you live but I would suggest closing windows at night now If you are at a rheumatoligist he will have his own way that you need to respond .and you should discuss that with him Its your own experience and if you are feeling ill quickly and with fevers then please call him . I don't know how often you see your doctor I am at mine every 3 to 4 weeks and my experience is if I am feeling ill and I am getting worse I call and get antibiotics. If I feel it is allergies I don't I would see your rheumatoligist and if you don't have one I would try to get to one here This group is good for getting you to a good doctor if you don't have one or you really need to get a better one There is no better advertising then a satisfied patient June e: ENBREL AND COLDS - Along this topic Posted by: " Debbie " n2beingme@... n2beingme Mon Oct 2, 2006 2:40 pm (PST) I have a question that is along this topic of Enbrel or Humira and colds. Alkalol is OTC but not usually stocked, it has to be ordered. It's homeopathic. Together they are great mucus busters. Mucus is where the germs " germinate " so if you can eliminate the mucus early on, you can sometimes stave off the cold. For the last 3 weeks, EVERYONE at work has been sick, and I've been fighting it but so far, so good. :-)
