Guest guest
Hi Sib, Raptiva has been around for several years, at least as a treatment for psoriasis. It is a biologic somewhat similar to enbrel and humira although it suppresses a different area of the immune system. Last I heard they were testing it on the arthritis so maybe it has been approved for that as well. A derm would be more apt to be familiar with it and have more experience using it than a rheum would. The derm I see doesn't recommend it at all even for psoriasis since it can cause some flaring and severe psoriasis rebounds after a series of injections. Can you ask the two docs to talk or write to each other? I always hate being put in the middle of their opinions. best, marti > > Anybody heard anything about this drug that is supposed to be new? >
Guest guest
Hello, I am a 36 yr old father of 4, married for 15 years. I have had psoriasis for 30 years. Just recently, was diagnosed with PA by a rheumatologist. I have been on almost everything! Enbrel and Remicade worked great on my skin and joints, but only for so long...than my body adjusts, and I get flare-ups. Anyway, just started Raptiva, took my forth dose this week, and have had terrible back and joint pain, to the point that I cannot walk very easily. Pain shoots up my lets and through my back. I see my doctor this weeki, but wondering if anyine else has had similar issues or knows of any backround about Raptiva and PA.
