Are you truly hungry, or is your body crying out for the food you used to

eat? I get cravings sometimes that seem like hunger, but it is just my

candida crying out for sugar and processed food. Those cravings do get

better the longer you are on the diet.

If it is truly hunger, then it might be your body's way of telling you that

it needs more nutrients. I can only speak for me, but I have been programmed

since childhood to only eat at " dinner " time, and to ignore hunger, or

placate it with whatever junk is in the cubbard. The initial hunger was my

body's way of telling me it was happy to finally have whole nutrients and

that it was craving more! So now I eat when I am hungry, and if I get hungry

again an hour later, I eat again. Just as long as I am eating good,

wholesome, yeast free foods, I eat.

When I first started on a candida diet (can't-eat-it diet. Ha Ha)I

too felt like I was starving. Not just physically hungry but also a

deep hunger, like my new foods weren't clogging enough. I wanted

something that wouldn't burn up so fast. I have since realized a few

things. 1.Cravings will make you feel this way as your body goes

through withdrawals for old " trigger " foods. 2.As soon as your body

is alleviated of the burden of these old foods it will turn to the

task of cleaning house and repairing itself (like Hanida mentioned,

your body needs nutrition in order to do this) and 3.Some people are

fast metabolizers and a veggie soup and chicken salad burns up a lot

faster than hard to digest processed foods. After a relatively short

while, about two weeks for me, my body got used to this and

maintaining this way of eating felt a lot easier. My best advice is

to eat, eat, eat. As long as you follow the candida diet guidelines.

It will help you to not feel deprived. Also, eating a lot of fiber

will help you feel full longer and it is great for your intestines as

Acidophilus thrives on fiber. It requires a lot of discipline in the

beginning to get in the habit of eating a health supporting diet. I

promise it gets easier. Also, regarding other supplements, I use

capryllic acid but I believe it has similar effects as grapefruit

seed extract. I'm so skeptical of anti-candida supplements, I've

spent a lot of money on them over the years and haven't had as much

luck with them as I was " supposed to " . I take the viewpoint that

candida isn't a disease, but a sign from your body that it is worn

down. After all candida exists in small amounts in a healthy

digestive tract. It takes over only when the body is worn down. We

are all aware of the things that tip the scales in candida's favor;

antibiotics, birth control pills, high sugar/simple carb diet, stress,

low gade infection, fod allergies/sensitivities, poor

detoxification... the list goes on and on. Anyways my point is that

anything you do that supports health will tip the scales back in your

favor. We all deserve to feel well!

Hello, I have had great success with colloidal silver for earaches -

just spray it in while lying in bed - after 15 mins or so turn over

and do the other ear. Also I just read that Hydrogen Peroxide 3% can

be used for the same purpose.

Doctors say that earaches are dangerous and topicals don't reach the

middle ear - yaddayaddayadda - but the silver has worked for me and

every kid I've given it to.

Anybody have any clue if a low Vitamin D level has anything to do with

PA? It was low last time (low normal is 32, and mine was 20-

something.) and I started the Vitamin D supplement the rheumy

prescribed. Now, it's down to only 13! I eat plenty of cheese and

yogurt and ice cream, and drink a glass of milk about 5 times a week

too. I will admit I seem to be having somewhat of a flare in my

hands...although they feel better on day 4 of a Medrol dosepak. My sed

rate and CRP are both slightly more elevated too. The rheumy is having

me double the amount of the supplement he prescribed, but since it's

fat-soluble, I'm kind of worried....I don't want to turn around and

get Vit D toxicity either!

One very important facet of Vitamin D metabolism is sunlight....Have

you had much lately?

Actually, I never get much sunlight exposure. Unlike most folks who

say the psoriasis lesions respond well to sunlight (I guess from the

PUVA and UVB rays in it), I am extremely photosensitive. Prolonged sun

exposure for me leads to intense itching and all sorts of rashes. I

dunno if I have a sun allergy, or what. So I try to get most of my

Vitamin D in the diet (lots of dairy and fish and so on.) It's never

been a problem before the past couple of months though.

Hi,

Well I do live in Florida, and had the Lapband done.

However, I do not have Diabetis, and I did not finance

the surgery.
