Guest guest
Geraldine, I have not had the surgery, but I am pretty knowledgable on the subject. Can you tell me what sort of operation you were supposed to have? By inserting a pin, do you mean he wants to perform an ankle fusion? what was your diagnosis specifically? You have to remember there are always positives and negatives to an operation, and you need to be aware of both before undertaking a major procedure. Also, how old are you? Sorry for asking such specific questions, but I hope to help you further if I can. geraldine dullaway <geraldinedullaway@...> wrote: Hi, I am from U.K. and have pa in my left ankle. I have had this for 2 years and can hardly walk. After having an xray my rheumatolist has referred me to an orthapaedic surgeon. He has decided to operate on my ankle and insert a pin as the pa has destroyed nearly all the ankle joint. He says it will be successful and I will have no pain. Has anyone else out there had this surgery and if so has it b een o.k. I am a bit aprehensive but the surgeon is positive so I must be. Guest guest
Hi, Todd, thanks for your help. I am 60 and the operation I am expecting to have is a fusion. I have been told that I will have no more or no less flexibility than I have at the moment, but it will help the pain. That is all he said. Also diagnosis is psoriactic arthritis in only one joint, ankle. Nowhere else. Thanks, once again, Geraldine
