Hi all,

Okay, I've seen a lot of posts on here about feet lately. I have a

question. I have developed some tiny blisters that itch like nobody's

business...BUT only on one foot. They remind me of some blisters I get

on my hands from time to time - after they pop they leave a little dark

spot for a while and the skin usually peels.

I discussed my hands with the local nurse practitioner and she said she

had seen it once before and thought it was connected to the psoriasis.

I talked to my rheumy about it the next time and he didn't think so.

So, I guess I'm asking if I need to find a dermatologist to consult or

if this is not really anything to worry about - just irritating - and

maybe if I've came in contact with something that's got me broken out -

which strikes me as odd with it being ONE FOOT ONLY.

*gotta love it*

[Editor's Note: Sure sounds like psoriasis to me. Psoriasis doesn't need to be

symetrical so it striking one foot only would not be at all out of character.

Whether it is psoriasis, the crud or some other evil thing doesn't matter - it

sounds like you need a dermatologist to figure out what it is and get you some

treatment for it. Kathy F.]

Hi Jean

Just to let you know that I get the same condition on my feet. It was diagnosed

as pompholyx.

I guess it is related to psoriasis

Another few comments on the skin blisters...I had an outbreak a few years

ago of guttate psoriasis (had never had that form before) that looked like

blisters, and my GP actually diagnosed as chicken pox until we realized the

antibiotics weren't working. Turns out it can be a psoriatic reaction to strep

throat.

In a totally different vein, I just read something this AM in my Autoimmune

Disease Association newsletter about Pemphigus, which also looks like

blisters, is more frequent in those with autoimmune disease, and can be a side

effect

of certain medications. It is described as " burn-like lesions or blisters

that do not heal " . In this case they said a biopsy of one of the blisters is

how they tell if it is caused by meds. Pemphigus is another autoimmune skin

disorder...there wasn't enough info in the article to explain how it differs

from guttate psoriasis but it sounds like it looks similar...

I am sure a dermatologist can help you...Sorry you have to deal with this!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I don't think it could be poison

ivy though - haven't been out barefoot and although this area is

rural - I guess you could say I live in the somewhat civilized part

of town.

I guess it's time to add an dermatologist to the arsenal of doctors.

Thanks for the input,
